Eric Paddon Subject: Episode summary: The Long Patrol (1) August, 1996 Hey all! Well, Liz inspired me to get on the ball and do those episode summaries we'd first talked about over a year ago. Hopefully I'm remembering correctly this time in assuming I actually did have The Long Patrol and The Young Warriors. Anyway, here goes... Episode Summary: The Long Patrol Chronology: This is episode 4, just after The Lost Warrior and before Gun on Ice Planet Zero. I. What did we learn in this episode? A. First Appearances: 1. We're in a new galaxy at the beginning of this episode. One that, supposedly 'No human in this Fleet has ever seen before' {Apollo}.Well.... 2. The dining lounge on the Rising Star opens for business as well. This is the beginning of the Rising Star's return to its original purpose as a recreational vehicle instead of just another ship in which people lived. B. Story arcs 1. This is one of the episodes that reminds us pointedly about the Fleet's ongoing search for Earth. Adama tells Boxey a story about Earth upon request (we don't actually hear the story, just the request). Meanwhile, Starbuck is locked in a cell that has all sorts of Earth-type cave drawings (I recognized a copy of just about every famous cave painting) -and- what is apparantly a map of our star system. Starbuck recalls this map at the end of the episode when Boxey brings out that drawing he did based on Adama's story, and this prompts Robber to mention the 'Silent One'. Who or what the Silent One is supposed to be is never answered, however. 2. This is the second time the Galactica and/or members of her crew
