I tend toward the idea that a healthy percentage of the surviving
population of the planet was in hiding, waiting for their feudal-type
lord and his family to do their duty and come to their rescue, at
which point they will all come out, shout hurrah, and plan a ball for
Kyle to chose his princess, at which the girl who used to sweep the
ashes from the fireplace (and therefore knew about the secret passage,
which was how she escaped in the first place) had a visit from her
fairy god-Cylon, and...

Oh, okay.
