Subject: My Continuation Screenplay Date: Fri, 12 Dec 2003 17:30:05 -0800 (PST) From: j As soon as I bought the DVD's and watched them for research, I started writing my own continuation screenplay just for funzies. Hope you enjoy it. Keep in mind though that it's not the perfect or even an ideal continuation, but one that was written with keeping in mind what actors we have left, what technology we have available, and other boring practical matters. I basically wanted to answer the question, "well how can you do a continuation 25 years after the original series with half the actors dead, and the other half collecting social security?" It's obvciously a very rough draft, i'd even say just an outline really of some ideas of how those problems could be solved. Anyway, let me know what you think. BATTLESTAR GALACTICA SAGA OF A STAR PEOPLE Written by Jaeson K. Jrakman jjrakman@yahoo.com FADE IN: EXT. OUTER SPACE NEBULA - NIGHT Traveling through outer space, a blue-green nebula forms and dissolves, stars appear and glisten. NARRATOR (V.O.) There are those who believe that life here began out there. Far across the universe, with tribes of humans who may have been the forefathers of the Egyptians, or the Toltecs, or the Mayans. That they may have been the architects of the Great Pyramids, or the lost civilizations of Lemuria, or Atlantis. Some believe that there may yet be brothers of Man, who even now fight to survive, somewhere beyond the heavens... The camera pans slowly to the right, off the nebula and onto a blank star field. [This ten-minute introduction will be made using the same technology that was used to make Brandon Lee finish his shots in the Crow, and Forest Gump shake the hand of JFK. Digitally using the images of the younger heroes, and ones who have passed away. Other scenes can be shot from behind with look a likes. Impressionists can be used to do new dialog for deceased characters, or by sampling dialogue from old shows. Either using technology to make mouths form the words, or having dialogue being spoken while the character is off screen. All SPFX in the introduction should look like 1978 effects.] COMMANDER ADAMA (V.O.) We thought we had destroyed the last of the Cylon Basestars that have been in pursuit of the fleet since the destruction of the colonies. We were wrong... The camera continues to slowly pan right over the blank star field until we see the Battlestar Galactica and the fleet being pursued by a Cylon Basestar. Heavy laser fire, explosions. The camera then follows the ships as they fly to the left. They are heading straight for the nebula. INT. BATTLESTAR GALACTICA BRIDGE - NIGHT The bridge is bathed in red light as officers scurry to their posts. Commander Adama stands at command. COMMANDER ADAMA Launch all squadrons to protect the fleet. Athena, we're going to need every trained pilot out there, get to your Viper. Athena Yes Father. Athena leaves the bridge to accompany Colonial Pilots who are on their way to their Vipers. FLIGHT CORPORAL RIGEL Vector coordinates coded and transferred. Launch Bay Alpha standby to launch flight patrol. Starbuck, Apollo, Sheba, Boomer, Jolly, Greenbean, and others launch their vipers from the Galactica. Flight Corporal Rigel Launch when ready. FLIGHT OFFICER OMEGA Galactica to Blue Leader, engage. EXT. OUTERSPACE - NIGHT Colonial Vipers engage in dogfights with the Cylon Raiders. They fly loop de loops through ships in the fleet. Some of the ships in the fleet are destroyed by Cylon Raiders crashing into them. We hear witty viper pilot banter among the pilots. APOLLO Starbuck you got one on your tail STARBUCK I see it. He's a sticky bugger. SHEBA I got him BOOMER Go get him girl. BOJAY I'm right behind you. INT. GALACTICA BRIDGE - NIGHT COLONEL TIGH Commander, long-range sensors show a strange energy field emanating from that Nebula. We've never encountered anything like it before. Commander Adama Then we shall use it to hide in. Colonel Tigh Commander, your not suggesting we enter the nebula, we don't know what effect that energy field will have on our ships. Commander Adama No, we don't. But neither do we know what effect it will have on the Cylons. Colonel Tigh I've never seen the Cylons send out so many Suicide Squadrons before. If they keep pummeling the fleet like this... Commander Adama Then there won't be a fleet left. Open Unicom. Attention, this is Commander Adama, I am ordering every pilot in every ship of the fleet to steer directly into the nebula. It may provide us cover from the attack. The Galactica and the fleet head towards the nebula. As soon as the ships enter, the nebula field has a strange effect on all the ships, Colonial and Cylon alike. Flight Commander Omega Sir! The energy field in the nebula is affecting our navigation systems. We have no control! Commander Adama Keep attempting to maintain control. Colonel Tigh Commander, ships are reporting the energy field also affecting targeting computers. They're shooting like drunken sailors! Commander Adama All ships cease-fire! EXT. NEBULA - NIGHT The Galactica careens out of control, as does every other ship and fighter in the fleet. Cylon fighters also careen out of control. Ships fly into one another, friendly fire on both sides go haywire. There is mass confusion. Apollo Our navigations systems are down, I can barely control them. Blue squadron, find an open space to fly through and try to direct your fighters away from the fleet. Starbuck Aye Aye Captain. Boomer Here goes nothing! All Viper pilots use whatever little control they have to fly away from the fleet. Some don't make it. One viper flies straight into a Cylon tanker. The Cylon tanker and Viper debris crash into the Galactica Bridge. Athena I can't control the Viper. It's out of control! Sheba Hold Steady Athena. I'll try to stay with you. Bojay I'll be on your tail if I can. INT. GALACTICA BRIDGE - NIGHT Pieces of the Galactica Bridge fall like rain all around the bridge officers and crew. Explosions set off fires everywhere on the Bridge. The Bridge seems all but destroyed. One piece of ceiling support beam on fire falls and impales Commander Adama. As fire rains down among them Tigh rushes to Commander Adama's side. Commander Adama Tigh, I have brought us to ruin. Save the fleet. Commander Adama dies. Colonel Tigh May you rest with the Lords of Kobol, Adama. Colonel Tigh rises. Flight Commander Omega Sir, long range scanners are faint, communications and scanning transmissions are receiving heavy interference, but... Colonel Tigh Spit it out Flight Commander Flight Commander Omega Scanners show two more Cylon Basestars just outside the nebula where we entered. Colonel Tigh We may have just sealed our fate. Colonel Tigh places his hand gently on Commander Adama's head. EXT. JUST OUTSIDE THE NEBULA - NIGHT Three Cylon Basestars now sit and watch the chaos going on inside the nebula from a safe distance. INT. CYLON BASESTAR - NIGHT LUCIFER accompanied by two CYLON CENTURIONS enter Baltar's chamber. BALTAR turns around on his elevated throne. BALTAR Report. Lucifer Scanners report the Colonials have entered the Nebula. The energy field is playing havoc on all their ships systems. It would appear they are doomed. Baltar It would appear yes. But I do not place my faith in appearances. Now Adama, you face my wrath for having marooned me on that insect infested planet. Lucifer What are your orders, Baltar? Baltar Send a Basestar in to finish them all. Go in with all laser turrets blazing! Lucifer I was afraid you might say that. I am sorry to report, that the commanders of our companion Basestars refuse to enter the nebula for obvious reasons. Baltar They cannot defy me in my moment of triumph! Lucifer I suspect that having not been marooned as you were, they do not share your desire for revenge. Baltar Yes, but you found me and resorted my position for this very purpose. To destroy the humans. If the Cylons are cowards, then I shall seize the glory for myself! I shall chase them down till not one human is left. Enter the nebula at once! Lucifer By your command. Lucifer and the Cylon Centurions leave Baltar's chambers. EXT. NEBULA - NIGHT The Cylon Basestar enters the nebula guns a blazing, causing even more chaos than before. But something is wrong. As soon as they enter not only do ship systems fail to work predictably, but also the Cylons themselves start having the same problems. The Basestar slams into ships of the fleets. Explosions. INT. BASESTAR - NIGHT Baltar rushes around the command center of the Basestar. Baltar What is happening? What is going on? But to no avail. The Cylons are incapable of answering him, being affected by the mysterious energy field of the nebula. Baltar watches the confusion and chaos on a viewscreen. Baltar I must escape. INT. GALACTICA BRIDGE - NIGHT The crew watches the interference on the monitors with images of the fleet being slaughtered. Flight Commander Omega Sir, details are sketchy but scans performed before we entered the nebula show that the nebula is disk shaped. We entered in the center of it. The other side is not that far if we can get through. Scanners also show that the nebula's energy field is affecting the Cylons themselves. Colonel Tigh That would mean they would have to go around. How long would it take them? Flight Commander Omega Approximately 25 Yahrens. Colonel Tigh 25 Yahrens? That would certainly give us a head start. But how do we get out of the Nebula without navigation control? Just then, a familiar face appears on one of the view screens. It is the face of Commander Cain. COMMANDER CAIN Adama you ol' war daggit! Looks like you're in need of some assistance. Colonel Tigh. Cain! By the Lords of Kobol! Adama has passed away sir. Commander Cain Understood. My condolences Colonel, but no time for ceremonies now. We've got to get you out of there. Colonel Tigh Commander, the nebula is emitting some kind of strange energy field... Commander Cain Yes, I know. I've been following the fleet at a safe distance so as to keep my, uh, independence. I know all about the nebula. Colonel, order all ships to shut down navigational systems. Colonel Tigh But Sir, if we loose what little navigational control we have, we could float in this nebula forever! Commander Cain Do as I say Colonel! Order the fleet to move in an Alpha 2 direction as close as they are able to control their ships. We all want to try to be moving in the same direction. I'm going to enter the nebula at top speed! When I do so I'll shut off all systems. The momentum should carry me through. As I pass order every ship in the fleet to launch their tow cables. I'll do the same, as will you. Once we're connected, order every ship in the fleet to fire off their thrusters on this pre-programmed mark for one short burst. We all use the momentum to pass through the short expanse of the nebula. Colonel Tigh It's a long shot, but I'll follow your orders. Commander Cain I'm all about long shots, Commander. Colonel Tigh I understand Commander. Omega, pass out the order to the fleet. And may the Lords of Kobol be with us. EXT. JUST OUTSIDE THE NEBULA - NIGHT The Battlestar Pegasus passes through the two Basestars remaining outside the nebula and exchanges heavy laser fire with them. The Pegasus passes between the Basestars at great speed and enters the nebula. INT. BATTLESTAR PEGASUS BRIDGE - NIGHT Commander Cain Battle stations. Shut down all systems except tow cables... NOW! EXT. NEBULA - NIGHT The lights on the Pegasus go dark. As it passes through the fleet which is desperately trying to maintain control. Most of the ships have been able to go somewhat in the same direction. The Pegasus and Galactica launch tow cables as does ships in the fleet, and some of the fighters. The tow cables connect all the ships. Even some Cylon ships are grabbed by error. Baltar launches cables from his escape ship to attach to the fleet. And go careening into space through the nebula on the intended course. INT. GALACTICA BRIDGE - NIGHT Colonel Tigh Hope beyond all hope, it's working. INT. AGRO SHIP - NIGHT One of the pilots of an agro ship is becoming panicky as he sees a couple of cable attached Cylon Raiders drifting towards him and decides to start thrusters to avoid them. EXT. NEBULA - NIGHT The Agro Ship swings wildly attached to cables and slams into the bridge of the Pegasus. There is a great explosion. Some of the fleet emerges from the nebula. Other ships are lost. Some Cylon ships emerge from the nebula as well. Including Baltar's escape ship. Other members of the fleet had already miraculously found their way to the other side of the nebula, including Viper Squadrons. INT. GALACTICA BRIDGE - NIGHT Colonel Tigh Report. Flight Officer Omega Heavy Casualties. We lost 33 ships to the nebula. Mostly freighters, a tanker, and several vipers. Colonel Tigh Apollo do you read me? Are your squadrons accounted for? Apollo (over intercom) We're here Colonel. Some of us. Colonel Tigh Who is accounted for? Apollo (over intercom) Starbuck, Sheba, Bojay, Greenbean, Jolly. The only one we can't find is Athena. Sheba (over intercom) We can't find her, she lost control. Apollo (over intercom) Colonel, where's my father? Colonel Tigh Commander Adama did not make it. EXT. VIPER COCKPIT - NIGHT Apollo weeps for his father. And quickly regains composure. Apollo Colonel, Viper scans show a system with a habitable planet within a centon's journey. Starbuck According to the scanners it's pretty green and wet. INT. GALACTICA BRIDGE - NIGHT Colonel Tigh Very well. Omega, order the fleet to disengage tow cables and head for that planet. We'll set up a base of operations to search for lost survivors. We should have plenty of time considering it will take the Cylons twenty five yahrens to circumnavigate the nebula. Any word from the Pegasus? Flight Commander Omega The Bridge was destroyed. The entire bridge crew with it. Colonel Tigh What have we done? EXT. OTHER SIDE OF NEBULA - NIGHT The fleet disengages tow cables and flies to the left towards the unnamed planet. INT. BALTAR'S ESCAPE SHIP - NIGHT Baltar smiles as he follows the fleet to the planet. FADE OUT FADE IN EXT. OUTER SPACE - NIGHT WRITTEN: 25 YAHRENS LATER... The camera pans to the left to fall on a very green and lush looking planet. [Everything filmed from this point on is brand new. All technology, ships, costumes, buildings, sets, are updated, yet reminiscent of the old styles. Viper cockpits have LCD screens right next to toggle switches. Scenes filmed with an aged Baltar are used using the same technology for the introduction, using scenes of Baltar shot for the 2nd Coming trailer.] EXT. SURFACE OF NEW EDEN - DAY The Colonials have settled on the habitable rain forest planet now known as New Eden. The scene flies over the settlement, built in a clearing we see large pyramidal skyscrapers, and obelisk shaped buildings. The view closes in on the top of a tall obelisk shaped skyscraper. INT. COUNCIL OF TWELVE CHAMBERS - DAY A large round table sits in the center of the room, surrounded by white robed seated members of the council, discussing the fate of the colonies. PRESIDENT TIGH We have spent the last 25 yahrens in relative peace. We've occupied ourselves with the building of our settlement on New Eden. We've spent our time here making new scientific discoveries, and advancing our technology. But this period of peace and advancement may be at an end. A crossroads lies before us. Long-range scanners on the Galactica and the Pegasus confirm, the Cylons have not given up their pursuit. They have decided to pursue us around the nebula and will be making an appearance within the several sectars. We need a plan of action. COUNCILOR GREENBEAN Yes, we are at a crossroads. But why should we flee from everything we have built? As a retired warrior, my instinct tells me to stay and fight for what we have here. We now have more advanced ships and weapons, a stronger fleet; we even back engineered some of the broken Cylon technology that made it through the nebula. Surely we can fight them on better terms now. COUNSILOR SALIK Yes, we have better weapons. We've learned to synthesize the gas from the nebula and our ships are equipped with space charges that utilize this gas, which proved effective against the Cylons themselves in the nebula. However, undoubtedly the Cylons will have advanced as well, and multiplied as well. We may find ourselves unable to defend ourselves against whatever new form the Cylon may arrive in. COUNCILOR OMEGA I concur with Councilor Greenbean. The Lords of Kobol saw fit to guide us to this planet, full of lush vegetation, a veritable paradise. Why should we not fight for what we have built? What could be gained from fleeing? COUNCILOR WILKER To stay and defend what we have here on New Eden, or to flee into the unknown once again. This is a choice none of us can decide with certainty. Just then a figure dressed in the traditional silver and dark blue uniform of a Battlestar commander walks into the room. It is COMMANDER APOLLO. Commander Apollo Council. I come to you to remind you of the ruthlessness of the Cylons. As a warrior I have fought the Cylons. And I tell you as sure as we have advanced, the Cylons will have advanced as well. But while the pilots of their fighters are programmed with battle techniques, we have no such luxury. There is not one viper pilot alive who has been in actual combat, they've spent the last 25 Yahrens training and playing aerial war games amongst the squadrons. Those of us who have seen combat, are too old for the reflexes that a Viper requires. We are not ready to face the Cylons. Councilor Salik (smiles) You have your father's habit of interrupting the council meetings. Commander Apollo Only when the Council seems to be bent on repeating the mistakes of the past. President Tigh Although Commander Apollo may be out of order I agree, our warriors are not ready for a fight of this magnitude against an enemy with unknown capability. Councilor Greenbean What then do you suggest we do? Here we have food, we have water, we have shelter all in plenty. Should we simply cast away this gift to flee? And to where? Commander Apollo To follow the path laid out by my father 25 yahrens ago. Councilor Wilker Surely you don't mean to pursue that Earth nonsense. It's become a family obsession. Councilor Salik Like Father like son. He would have us chase the ramblings of a half drunken space pirate. Commander Apollo Most of my family, gentlemen, is all but gone thanks to the Cylons. My Father, my Mother, my brother, my wife, all dead, killed by the Cylons. My sister lost in action because of a Cylon attack. So I would appreciate more respect for my late father from the great and wise council. President Tigh That's enough. I'll not have Adama's memory dishonored in this fashion. On our journey from the colonies we did find clues to the whereabouts of Earth. Councilor Omega True but never anything substantial. Broken inscriptions, cryptic messages from beings we don't understand. Councilor Greenbean I'm afraid if you want the settlement to chase after a myth Commander, you'll have to find a more persuasive means of convincing the people. President Tigh I'm afraid it's true Apollo, the general consensus among the people is that they want to stay and fight for their homes. It will be a hard sell to convince them that continuing the search for Earth is anything more than folly. Commander Apollo I can't believe what I'm hearing. I am telling you as a commander of a Battlestar we cannot hope to win a fight against the Cylons at this point in time. We need more allies to be able to fight; Earth is our only hope for survival. You must see this. Seeing Apollo is becoming agitated Tigh motions Apollo out of the room. Apollo follows Tigh out of the room. Councilor Greenbean I do feel sorry for the plight of his family, but we cannot be blinded by sentiment now. Councilor Omega Adama was a great man, but I have my doubts as to the reality of Earth myself. I'm afraid our only real course of action for the best chance of survival is to stay and fight. The council members nod in agreement. INT. JUST OUTSIDE THE COUNCIL OF TWELVE CHAMBERS - DAY Commander Apollo President, you have to see that I'm right. You yourself fought along side my father for yahrens, do you believe he was easily deluded by flights of fancy? President Tigh No, of course not. But I do agree that you do need more than just your word to convince the people that Earth is more than a child's bedtime tale. Commander Apollo I believe it is real. President Tigh If truth be told, I do as well Commander. I may be President, but I answer to the people. Commander Apollo I don't even know why we maintain the Council of Twelve, there aren't twelve colonies any more, just one. Just New Eden. President Tigh Just as I won't have them dishonor your father, neither will I hear dishonor to our traditions. Proof, Apollo, is the only thing that will tear the people from their homes. I'm sorry. Commander Apollo I'm sorry too. I'm sorry that once again the council is determined to lead the race of man to ruin. President Tigh Apollo- Commander Apollo cuts him off and walks away leaving Tigh alone to consider the reality of Earth. INT. COUNCIL OF TWELVE BUILDING LANDING BAY - DAY Apollo walks with purpose towards a shuttlecraft. He enters. Commander Apollo Take me to the Galactica. SHUTTLE PILOT Aye aye, commander. EXT. COUNCIL OF TWELVE OBELISK - DAY We see the shuttle fly out of the landing bay, across the settlement, and up into the clouds. EXT. IN ORBIT AROUND NEW EDEN - NIGHT We see the shuttle leave the clouds of New Eden's atmosphere and fly into space. It passes through ships of the fleet that are in orbit around the planet, all of which have been updated. Eventually it clears the fleet and approaches to the Battlestar Galactica. INT. SHUTTLE - NIGHT Shuttle pilot Boy she's beautiful. I never tire of flying by a Battlestar. Commander Adama (smiles) Either do I ensign, either do I. EXT. FLYING BY BATTLESTAR PEGASUS - NIGHT The shuttle flies by an updated Battlestar Galactica. We get sort of an aerial tour of the ship and see it in all its glory. Then the shuttle docks in the Galactica landing bay. INT. OFFICER'S CLUB - GALACTICA We begin the scene with a close up of a card table where a game of Pyramid is being played. A pair of hands lays down a hand of cards. The camera follows the hands back up to a face with a femerello in its mouth, and lights the femerello. It is COMMANDER STARBUCK. Starbuck now sports a crew cut and wears the traditional brown and tan Commander garb that Commander Cain had worn, only updated. He looks like Patton. Commander Starbuck (grins) Well boys, beat that. FLIGHT OFFICER TROY Well, I think this might do it, a Full Pyramid. Commander Starbuck's jaw drops as Flight Officer Troy, dressed in the blue and silver flight officer uniform, collects the pot. COLONEL BOOMER who is also at the table begins laughing along with COLONEL BOJAY who also is in on the game, who also laughs. Both Boomer and Bojay are wearing the traditional blue and silver uniform of the Colonel, but updated. Commander Starbuck That's felgercarb Boxey, let me see those cards Flight Officer Troy Would you stop calling me Boxey, and yeah I won fair and square. Colonel Boomer I think you taught the boy a little too well Starbuck. Commander Starbuck Yeah, well, we'll see what happens in the next round. Colonel Bojay No can do, I have to get to the bridge. Commander Starbuck Just a minute here, your going to leave before I get a chance to win my money back from Boxey? Sit down, that's an order. A war daggit resembling a robotic Labrador sits next to Flight Officer Troy. It lets out an electronic bark. Colonel Boomer That's right, Boxey's gotta pay for his war daggits somehow. Flight Officer Troy Enough with the Boxey already, my name is Troy. Commander Starbuck Just deal the cards, Boxey. This hand will mean one less war daggit I'll trip over. Colonel Bojay Yeah I think that ol' Muffit had one hades of an effect on our Flight Officer here, what ever happened to that daggit anyway? Flight Officer Troy (chuckles) After I reached my teens I tore that ol' Muffit apart. Wanted to see how it worked. It was the death for poor Muffit, but I learned how to build these guys. (pets robotic Labrador) Colonel Boomer And now we have a fine pack of war daggits to accompany us on ground patrols. I'll raise a glass of Ambrosia to that. Mugs clink together in the toast. Commander Starbuck All right, enough reminiscing already, are you going to play? Commander Apollo enters the Officer's club and walks over to Commander Starbuck. Commander Apollo Starbuck, I need you in my quarters now. Commander Starbuck Just a centon Apollo, I'm about to earn a Yahrens wages. Commander Apollo Now. Commander Starbuck (sighs) We'll pick this up later. That's an order. Colonel Boomer (laughs) Timing was never one of your strong points. Flight Commander Troy Either was Pyramid. Colonel Boomer Ouch. Starbuck gets up and starts to say something as he points his femerello at Flight Commander Troy. But Apollo grabs Starbuck by the shoulder and ushers him away. Colonel Bojay It seems Commander Apollo has lost all humor these days. Flight Commander Troy If you lost most of your family, you might feel the same way. Colonel Boomer I lost my wife in childbirth. I can understand what he's going through. Colonel Bojay I did lose someone, in a fashion. By the way, how is your boy, Thor, these days Boomer? Colonel Boomer He's a good solid Warrior, Captain of Blue Squadron now. Flight Officer Troy With Orion and Seth in his squadron, he's got his hands full. Colonel Boomer Ain't that the truth. INT. STARBUCK'S PRIVATE QUARTERS - NIGHT Apollo paces back and forth in front of his desk. Starbuck sits behind Apollo's desk and puffs on his femerello with his feet up. Commander Starbuck So, how did the council go? Commander Apollo Not well. Commander Starbuck What makes you say that? Commander Apollo They seem hades bent on staying and fighting the Cylons. Commander Starbuck Well, we all knew this day would come. I think I'm up for a fight. Commander Apollo You can't be serious! Commander Starbuck Look, I wanted to find Earth as much as you. But it's time we face reality that it might not even exist. New Eden does exist, and we have a lot to fight for here. Commander Apollo You have to know that our pilots are not combat ready. We can't win this fight. Commander Starbuck Well, uh, speak for your red and blue squadrons. I have faith in the abilities of purple and orange squadrons on the Pegasus. Commander Apollo Our only hope is to find more allies on Earth, to regroup with the rest of man and then fight. Only then do we stand a chance against the Cylons. Commander Starbuck Look buddy, if I knew for sure Earth was out there and where to find it I'd be with you 100% on this. But I don't. And I didn't help rebuild and then take command of the Pegasus to run away from a fight. Besides with two Battlestars and all the squadrons of Vipers we now have, all of which are practically state of the art thanks to the work Boxey supervised, I think we might stand a chance. Commander Apollo Yeah Boxey sure did turn out to have a knack for tinkering with technology. I'm really proud of him. Commander Starbuck You have every reason to be. By the way, how are your twins? Commander Apollo Well, Orion is doing well, he really is an excellent Viper Pilot and has truly earned his Lieutenant rank. Seth... he's a lieutenant now too but, I worry about him. He keeps running off to visit Baltar to hear the old man tell him stories. Commander Starbuck Baltar should have been executed. Your banishment on him was a little too lenient in my book. Commander Apollo I can't condemn a man to death, even Baltar. Although I worry that the things he tells my son may be having an effect on him. Baltar has a serpent's tongue. Apollo sighs and looks at the photos of Adama, Zac, Serina, Athena and his Mother hanging on the wall in his quarters. Commander Apollo Most of my family album is a graveyard. And the rest, is falling apart... Commander Starbuck Well, I wouldn't worry too much about Seth, from what I've heard he's a great pilot. And besides kids have a way of turning out, look how I turned out... Commander Apollo (smiles) Yeah look how you turned out. Commander Starbuck I knew I could make you crack a smile. Besides I'm sure it would be easier on you old man, if Stiletto weren't playing both your boys. Commander Apollo Yeah, your daughter is a real chip off the old block isn't she. Commander Starbuck Yeah, I'd like to kick her astrum. Commander Apollo Does she have everything ready for your sealing? Commander Starbuck Yeah she really put together this whole thing. Since she's the one that's been nagging me for yahrens to seal her mother, I let her do all the planning. Commander Apollo Well it's about time; you and Cassie have been in love since forever. Commander Starbuck I guess I'm probably ready to settle down. Commander Apollo (laughs) Ready to settle down? I should hope so. You're over 50 Yahrens old! Commander Starbuck Watch it. I can still mix it up with the youngest of warriors. And besides, I just wanted to make certain that I wasn't missing out on anything else. Commander Apollo Well how long does that take? Commander Starbuck Well not as long as it took for you and Sheba to seal. Frack, you two lovebirds sealed practically as soon as we first landed on New Eden. Commander Apollo We were truly in love. Commander Starbuck I'm sure things will work out. Listen, why don't you join us in the officer's lounge while we still have time to enjoy ourselves. Commander Apollo No, I have to get back to the Galactica. And I'm taking Bojay with me. Commander Starbuck Hey now, I've got some cubits to win. There is a sound over the intercom. Commander Starbuck What is it? Intercom Voice Sir, there's a fight on the flight deck. Stiletto's involved. Commander Starbuck Why do I get the feeling Orion and Seth are there as well. Intercom Voice Yes, they are here too. Commander Starbuck Splendid. Shall we make our way to the flight deck? Commander Apollo Does that mean you'll be getting your boots off my desk? Commander Starbuck and Commander Apollo leave Starbuck's quarters to see what the fight on the flight deck is all about. INT. FLIGHT DECK OF THE GALACTICA - NIGHT On the flight deck of the Galactica, Stiletto, a very attractive woman with long dirty blond hair in a pony tail smokes a femerello as she leans against the wing of a Viper kind of chuckling to herself. She is wearing the traditional brown and tan viper pilot outfit, but updated. Off in the center of the flight deck, in front of several Vipers, Seth, and dark haired blue eyed pilot, and Orion, a dark haired brown eyed pilot both fight, sporting some bruises. Various pilots cheer on the twins and make wagers on the side while surrounding them. Commander Starbuck, Commander Apollo, Colonel Tigh and Colonel Boomer stride into the flight deck purposefully. Commander Starbuck Stiletto! CAPTAIN STILLETO Oh frack... Commander Starbuck Get that thing out of your mouth Captain. Stiletto throws the femerello to the floor, as the pilots quiet down and stand at attention. Commander Apollo addresses the pilots. Commander Apollo What is the meaning of all this? Seth? Orion? Lieutenant Orion Seth altered the targeting computers on my Viper making me miss every shot in the simulation. Lieutenant Seth I can't help it if he can't hit the broad side of a Cylon tanker. Orion lets loose and strikes Seth on the face. Seth falls to the floor with a bloody mouth and sits there kind of chuckling to himself. But Boomer gets between before any more violence can occur. Colonel Boomer All right that's quite enough warriors. Colonel Bojay I quite agree. Listen up pilots, 20 laps around the Galactica. Groans from the pilots. Colonel Bojay (claps) Now. Move, move. The pilots start to jog out of the flight deck. Colonel Bojay leads them. Commander Apollo Not you Seth and Orion, I want to see you both in my quarters on the double. Commander Starbuck You stay put too, Stiletto. We're going back to the Pegasus. Lieutenant Orion Father, he- Commander Apollo In my quarters! Lieutenant Orion Yes, Father. Orion leaves the flight deck to go to Commander Apollo's quarters. Seth reluctantly follows behind as he walks by Stiletto they both cast a smirk at each other. Colonel Boomer Well, looks like we need to reprimand the warriors for their behavior, two centor's latrine duty? Commander Starbuck Stiletto is getting four. Commander Apollo (smiles) Is this how purple and orange squadron operate? Commander Starbuck Nice. Commander Apollo I'll be in my quarters. Commander Starbuck Nice. Just make sure you have the Medallion of the Lords of Kobol ready for tomorrow. Commander Apollo Oh I will. Apollo strides out of the flight deck to meet his sons in his quarters. Starbuck frowns and turns to Stiletto. Commander Starbuck Come with me darling daughter. Starbuck and Stiletto go to a shuttlecraft. Boomer goes as well and gets behind the pilot's seat. Cut to shuttle interior. Commander Starbuck You don't mind piloting this thing back to the Pegasus do you? I need a word with young Stiletto. Colonel Boomer Oh, I think I could use the practice. Commander Starbuck (smiles) Yeah, you could. Boomer shakes his head. Cut to the flight deck. We see the shuttle taking off and flying out of the Galactica. INT. SHUTTLE - NIGHT Commander Starbuck paces. Captain Stiletto Father, I didn't- Commander Starbuck puts his hand out to silence his daughter. She shuts up. Commander Starbuck I don't know what kind of felgercarb goes through that little mind of yours. But you have got to stop provoking Apollo's boys. Captain Stiletto All I did was joke around that maybe Orion wasn't as good a shot as I thought he was, and he just blew up. Commander Starbuck That's what I'm talking about. You know damn well both those boys have a flame for you. Stop teasing them both and pick one. Captain Stiletto (smirks) I'll pick one when I'm 50 yahrens. Commander Starbuck That, young lady, just earned you launch tube scrubbing duty. Enjoy. Commander Starbuck leaves his daughter to rejoin Boomer in the co pilot's seat. Colonel Boomer Did you get everything straightened out. Commander Starbuck Frack no. Colonel Boomer (laughs) Like Father like daughter. Commander Starbuck Shut up and fly, that's an order. Colonel Boomer (smiles and shakes his heads to himself) Yes, sir. Cut to an exterior shot of the shuttle. We see the shuttle approaching the Battlestar Pegasus. INT. APOLLO'S QUARTERS ABOARD THE GALACTICA - NIGHT Lieutenant Orion stands at attention in front of Commander Apollo's desk. Apollo walks in and around his desk to sit behind it. He sighs. Commander Apollo I honestly don't know what is going on with you boys and why you have to act like enemies. You're acting like children. This wouldn't have anything to do with jealousy over Captain Stiletto would it? Lieutenant Orion (Orion flushes) That has nothing to do with it father. Seth tampered with my targeting computers. She should not be joking around in this manner. Commander Apollo I agree, a Viper is expensive hardware. But this is not the way lieutenants should behave, you need to set an example. (Furrows eyes) Where is Seth? Lieutenant Orion This is exactly what I am talking about. I don't know how he ever earned the rank of lieutenant, nor do the other pilots. Commander Apollo I thought that if I gave him more responsibility, he'd become more responsible. And he is a goof pilot. Lieutenant Orion Yeah he's good, but he flies in the face of discipline and has no respect for command. Commander Apollo Do you know where he went? Lieutenant Orion I have no idea where he is. Commander Apollo (sighs)I know where he is. EXT. SPACE SMALL ONE MAN CRAFT - NIGHT We see a small one-man craft, much smaller than a Viper flying from the Galactica. It is an Ultra-Viper. Seth pilots it. It flies through the fleet and towards New Eden. It enters the atmosphere, passes over the settlement and goes to an area of the planet that is very rural, in wilderness. It lands. EXT. SURFACE OF NEW EDEN, WILDERNESS - DAY Seth opens the canopy on his Ultra-Viper and steps out. Closes the canopy with a remote control. He walks a few paces, looks around at the wilderness of the rain forest and smiles. He then walks a bit into a cave entrance. INT. BALTAR'S CAVE - DAY A small central fire lights the large cavern. There are several bookcases and other amenities places about the cave. We see two albino salamanders slither up a stalagmite, and hear the slow dripping of water in the background. Lieutenant Seth wanders in. All scenes of an aged Baltar are used with footage shot in the Second Coming trailer. Lieutenant Seth Baltar? Baltar emerges from behind a cabinet. Baltar My Boy. There you are. Do you have it? Lieutenant Seth I do. Seth pulls out a round silver medallion on a silver necklace. He hands it to Baltar who takes it with a big grin. Lieutenant Seth So what is it? Baltar It is a symbol of power and faith. Handed down by the Lords of Kobol through the millennia to each member of the Council of Twelve. It is the seal of our ancient lords, and it is also a key. Lieutenant Seth A key to what? Baltar (smiles) All in good time my boy. Here, have some drink. Baltar hands Seth a drink. Seth drinks. Lieutenant Seth What will you do with it? Baltar Curious lad aren't you. When your grandfather marooned me it was pure luck that the Cylons intercepted my short-range communique. The Cylons appointed me, as their ambassador to extend the hand of peace to man, but Adama would time and time again slap it away out of fear, paranoia and suspicion. With this medallion I shall restore the people's faith in Baltar. Lieutenant Seth Well do what you want with it, I don't think my Father will miss it. There was a layer of dust about a micron thick on it. Baltar Just the same, tell no one I that have it. My boy, the Cylons are about to return. What does the Council of Twelve intend to do? Lieutenant Seth From what I understand, they want to stay and fight the Cylons. It's all felgercarb. Baltar Why do you say that? Lieutenant Seth Because you've made me realize that co-existence with the Cylons is a possibility. We haven't had contact with them in 25 yahrens. I can't believe that they still want to kill us all for nothing. Baltar I agree my boy. But the Council of Twelve will never listen to reason. Lieutenant Seth I will make them listen. I've been listening to your words for yahrens, and I think it's time the people began to listen to hear you as well. I want to show them that a good warrior fights with his wits, instead of bludgeoning the first thing he sees without giving it the slightest bit of consideration. Baltar Yes, but as a Colonial Warrior you have orders to follow my boy. If the Council says we fight, then you must obey. (smiles) Or your father will have your astrum. Lieutenant Seth To Hades with my Father, he's an old fool. Baltar If that is how you feel, then you could bring me a communications device. I could contact the Cylons before they arrive, they know me. But I already have put you in harms way by asking you to bring me the medallion... Lieutenant Seth No, I want to do it. I'm tired of blindly obeying orders from old men who don't see things clearly. I intend to be my own man and think for myself. Baltar Those who forge their own fate are powerful indeed. Lieutenant Seth You've always shown me how to think outside of the box Baltar. It's time we show the people how to think that way to. Commander Apollo walks in. Commander Apollo Thinking outside the box, isn't always necessarily better. Baltar puts the hand with the medallion behind him. Commander Apollo Seth, put your Ultra-Viper in my shuttle now. Seth sighs and shakes his head. Lieutenant Seth I'm sorry, Baltar. Baltar That's quite all right my boy. Do as your father says. Seth gets up and stares at his father with contempt as he walks out of the cave. Commander Apollo Baltar, I want you to leave my son alone. Baltar It is he who comes to me. Commander Apollo I put you here so you could live in peace, where others would not bother you, to spare you the sentence of death that so many of the people clamored for. Try to find some humanity within yourself, and respect a father's wishes. Please stay away from my son. Baltar smiles and shrugs. Apollo leaves the cave. Baltar pulls out the medallion and grins. He walks down deeper into the cave, through winding passageways. He comes to an open expanse of the cavern, huge beyond imagining. There is an ancient pyramid with hieroglyphs all over it. There are hieroglyphs all over the walls of the cave. The pyramid is flanked by two huge Egyptian god-like statures. Baltar walks to the center of the pyramid where there is a door that is flanked by two smaller godlike Egyptian statues. There is a keyhole in the door the same shape as the medallion. Baltar places the medallion in it and the door begins to open. Baltar laughs. INT. SHUTTLE - NIGHT Apollo sits at the controls of the shuttle with Seth in the co pilot's seat. Commander Apollo Seth, why do you always run to Baltar when things get tough? Lieutenant Seth Because he can see things in ways that others are closed to. Commander Apollo Seth, I'm trying to understand. Why did you tamper with your brother's targeting computer. Lieutenant Seth I thought it would show that I could win a fight by using my mind. Commander Apollo That's a commendable idea. But don't tamper with another pilot's Viper again. From now on fight the straight fight. Lieutenant Seth Life isn't always a straight fight Father. Commander Apollo No, it isn't. But you have got to learn to work more as a team, as a unit instead of always going off on your own. Lieutenant Seth Why not? You've been going off on your own. You've practically abandoned Mother. Commander Apollo That's not true. We just, haven't been seeing eye to eye lately. Lieutenant Seth Apparently either do we. Commander Apollo When we get back to the Galactica I'm putting you on long-range scanner duty. Lieutenant Seth I don't want to sit all day behind a panel! Commander Apollo You are a Colonial Warrior and you will do as your ordered, Lieutenant. Lieutenant Seth Yes, Commander. Apollo sighs. Cut to an exterior shot of the shuttle heading towards the Galactica. FADE OUT FADE IN EXT. NEW EDEN SURFACE - DUSK The camera flies over the settlement through various buildings and stops on a clearing in a park like area. A wedding is being performed, sealing Starbuck and Cassiopeia. We see a thousand candles before the ceremony. Apollo is performing the ceremony and stands between Starbuck and Cassiopeia. Boomer, Tigh, Bojay, Sheba, Jolly, Stiletto, Orion, Boxey, and all the young pilots stand in witness. Commander Apollo Will the protector of Cassiopeia consent to relinquishing her responsibilities to Starbuck? The man to whom she is consented to be married? Stiletto (smiles) Yes. Commander Apollo The words I'm about to speak are the most powerful in all the Universe. They seal a union between this man and this woman, which is not only for now, but for all the eternities. Jolly hands Apollo a crude imitation of the medallion of the Lords of Kobol. Starbuck gives a strange look to Apollo wondering where the actual medallion is. Apollo shakes his head slightly as if to tell Starbuck he'll tell him later. Commander Apollo Starbuck, Cassiopeia, under the eyes of God, bound by faiths of the symbol of the faiths of the Lords of Kobol, I declare you sealed. Starbuck and Cassiopeia kiss. Commander Apollo Let the celebrations begin! Fireworks, applause and noisemakers erupt. Starbuck smiles at the crows and kind of half waves as he puts a femerello in his mouth. Cassiopeia takes the femerello and throws it away. Commander Starbuck Hey now- Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia Now that we're sealed, you promised. And as chief medical officer of the Pegasus, it's an order. Starbuck's shoulders slump. Cut to the festivities. We see children running about through the legs of Colonial Warriors of all ranks mixed with civilian people. Tigh, Apollo, and Jolly stand together holding flagons of ambrosia. President Tigh Well I never thought he'd do it. Starbuck and Cassie walk up. Commander Starbuck Well, we almost didn't. I thought I reminded you to have the medallion ready. Commander Apollo I'm sorry you two. The medallion came up missing. I can't find where I put it. So I enlisted Jolly here to fashion a new one in haste. Flight Instructor Jolly Yeah, it was short notice. Commander Starbuck Yeah, well uh, stick to teaching the pilots. Flight Instructor Jolly Hey, I thought I did a pretty darn good job. Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia You did a fine job, Jolly. Excuse us, we have to make our rounds. Commander Starbuck Yeah, the public awaits. Starbuck and Cassie walk off. Apollo sees Orion talking to Sheba, his mother. Cut to Sheba and Orion. Lieutenant Orion Seth is becoming a real liability in the squadron. He doesn't take his orders seriously. I don't know what to do. Flight Instructor Sheba I've always had faith in both of you boys. Seth is just lagging behind you a bit. Just try to nudge him in the right direction. Lieutenant Orion He won't listen to reason, Mother. He's reckless. Flight Instructor Sheba When I gave birth to the both of you, you became my pride, and my joy. I know Seth will come around, your Father is a good father. I know he can guide him to be a good warrior too. Lieutenant Orion I know he is a good Father. I just wish Father could see that you are a good Mother. Flight Instructor Sheba He does. (smiles and kisses Orion) Apollo walks up to Orion and hand him a flagon of ambrosia. Commander Orion Here you go Orion, why don't you join the fun. Lieutenant Orion Yes, Father. Orion walks away to leave Apollo and Sheba alone. Commander Apollo Orion is a good boy. Flight Instructor Sheba So is Seth, you need to see that. Commander Apollo Seth is defiant and belligerent. I don't know that I can do any more to help him. Flight Instructor Sheba You could if you weren't spending all your time pouring over dusty old books looking for the passage to Earth. Commander Apollo Sheba please... Flight Instructor Sheba What's more important to you. The life we have here, now as a family, your two sons, me, or some distant myth of a planet that may not even be? Commander Apollo We've had this discussion endless times. Can't you see that finding Earth is the best way to help our people? Flight Instructor Sheba I believe you believe that, and that you are a good man. But I think you need to let go of your Father's dream. You don't have to prove anything. Commander Apollo Sheba, the Cylons are right around the corner, this may be the last time any of us are able to enjoy peace again for a long time. We need allies. Flight Instruct Sheba Your family needs allies too. Sheba starts to cry and walks away. Bojay sees Sheba walk of and walks next to Apollo. Colonel Bojay Apollo, I respect you as a military leader and would follow you into the gates of Hades. And yes, I agree with you that we should continue our search for Earth. But know this, if you do not love Sheba anymore, let her go... Bojay walks off before Apollo can respond. Cut to a scene with the new young pilots, Thor (Boomer's Son), Isis, and Marduk talking with Starbuck, Boomer, Boxey(Troy) and Boxey's seven yahren old son, Loki about flying the Cylon Raider into the Basestar from the Hand of God. Thor and Boomer have their arms around each other's shoulders. Thor is a young stocky black male, Isis is a young blond haired beauty, and Marduk is a young Asian with dyed hair. Captain Thor Waggling! I'll have to remember that one! Colonel Boomer Well you could just remember to use a homing beacon, and not have to waggle. Commander Starbuck Hey now, being able to waggle is the mark of a good pilot. Lieutenant Marduk I don't think I'll want to try waggling any time soon. Commander Starbuck Well with that ridiculous hair of yours you won't need to waggle, we'll see you from a parsec away. Colonel Boomer Yeah, looks like your head's on fire. Lieutenant Isis I just wish we had something other than simulations in war games to shoot at. I'm actually looking forward to the Cylons getting here. Then we'll have a real fight. Captain Thor Don't be too eager there Lieutenant; we have no idea what their capabilities will be like. Colonel Boomer Well son, if they're anything like the old tin cans we shouldn't have anything to worry about. Loki I'm afraid of the Cylons. Everyone laughs. Flight Officer Troy Don't worry son, Commander Starbuck may not be good at Pyramid, but he can take out a Cylon or two no problem. Commander Starbuck That's right Loki, I can also take on a Flight Officer or two. Everyone laughs. Cut to scene of Sheba and Cassiopeia talking by a buffet. Flight Officer Sheba It's good to see you two finally get sealed. You should have done it a long time ago. Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia Tell that to Starbuck. How are you and Apollo doing? Flight Instructor Sheba I don't think we're going to make it. He's very focused on finding Earth, and not much on any thing else. Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia I'm so sorry, Sheba. Flight Officer Sheba Don't be. Not on this day. I am so happy for you and Starbuck. I just wish... Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia I know. Cut to scene of Starbuck, Apollo, Boomer, and Tigh discussing matters. Commander Starbuck Where is Seth? Commander Apollo He's on board the Galactica. I ordered him to long-range scanner duty after he ran to Baltar's cave instead of seeing me in my quarters as I asked him. Colonel Boomer What does your boy see in that crotchety old man anyway? Commander Apollo He's been going out there since he was a boy to hear stories of the Colonies and the Cylons. Commander Starbuck Somehow I'd bet that's not all he's hearing. That old man should have been executed the moment we found him here. President Tigh I admit there are times I feel the same way. Commander Apollo Well, at least Seth's fond of Stiletto, she's a great warrior and a great pilot. Commander Starbuck She is a good warrior, just needs a little pulling in on the reigns once in a while. But Seth isn't the only one that's fond of her... Starbuck points to Orion and Stiletto talking. They all kind of chuckle. Cut to Orion and Stiletto talking. Captain Stiletto (smirking) So you kind of lost control up there. Lieutenant Orion I'm tired of Seth's felgercarb. But apparently you're not. Captain Stiletto smiles and shrugs. Lieutenant Orion What do you see in him anyway? Captain Stiletto Probably the same thing I see in you. Lieutenant Orion Tell me that's not true. Captain Stiletto Well, kind of. Lieutenant Orion I swear you are a waste of time. Captain Stiletto leans into Orion. Captain Stiletto A waste? Lieutenant Orion Well, maybe not as much as Seth. Captain Stiletto Why don't we forget about him for a while? Lieutenant Orion I'd like to. Captain Stiletto Maybe this will help. Stiletto kisses Orion. The camera pans up into the stars. EXT. IN ORBIT AROUND NEW EDEN - NIGHT The camera flies through the fleet and focuses in on the Galactica. INT. GALACTICA LONG RANGE SCANNER PANEL - NIGHT Seth sits at the scanner watching the monitor blink and blip with nothing but the movements of the fleet. He's not really paying attention to his panel very well. Lieutenant Seth Everyone's down on New Eden for Starbuck's wedding and I'm stuck with this screen. Frack this is a waste of time. FLIGHT OFFICER RIGEL walks by and over hears Seth talking to himself. Flight Officer Rigel No duty is a waste of time, Lieutenant. Lieutenant Seth Hades, there's nothing but a skeleton crew on Galactica because everyone knows it'll be a couple of centons (months) before the Cylons ever get here. Flight Officer Rigel That may be true, but that does not lessen the duty. Keep on it, Lieutenant. Seth scowls as Flight Officer Rigel walks away. Being left alone, Seth looks around and sees no one around. He presses a few keys on his panel and sneaks out from his post. Lieutenant Seth I'll be back before they know it. EXT. IN ORBIT AROUND NEW EDEN - NIGHT We see a shot of Seth piloting an Ultra Viper out of the Galactica launch tube. The camera follows Seth as he dives in and out of ships in the fleet. He performs special acrobatics with his Ultra Viper. He hoots and hollers and lets off some steam. He rises above the fleet and slows his Ultra Viper to a near stop and looks at the stars with wonder. In the distance he sees two stars, which seem to move. Seth furrows his eyes to make them out. They come closer. They are updated Cylon ships. Lieutenant Seth What in Hades are those? The ships fly into the fleet and open fire. Explosions are everywhere and Seth's Ultra Viper is rocked from his position. The ships fly to the surface of New Eden. EXT. SURFACE OF NEW EDEN - NIGHT We see an overhead shot of the festivities of Starbuck and Cassiopeia's wedding. When out of the distance from the sky, laser fire erupts. Explosions light up as people run in a panic. Colonial Warriors pull out their pistols and rifles to shoot at the oncoming ships but it's too late. They make another pass. One crashes into a pyramid skyscraper. The other crashes near the festivities. Chaos ensues. People are injured, others die. Cassiopeia helps the injured. Boomer, Starbuck, Apollo, Tigh, Sheba, run up to the crash site. They see an updated Cylon, heavily damaged, reaching out an arm trying in vain to strangle the humans. Starbuck pulls out a pistol and finishes the job. Commander Apollo is speaking with the Galactica on the communicator. Commander Apollo There were only two. Colonel Boomer Why weren't we warned? Commander Apollo My son, abandoned his post. Commander Starbuck What about the Pegasus? Commander Apollo They were on the other side of New Eden, they never would have seen them coming. Apollo turns to Tigh. Tigh leans to an aid. President Tigh Call a convening of the Council, first thing in the morning. Commander Apollo What will the council say now? Apollo speaks into his communicator. Commander Apollo Retrieve my son, and send out an order to have him put into a holding cell. Apollo turns his head to meek the gaze of Sheba, who tears up, and walks way. Commander Apollo leaves Tigh who studies the broken Cylon. INT. COUNCIL OF TWELVE CHAMBERS - DAY President Tigh I call this council to order to discuss the recent contact with the Cylons. We can no longer afford to delay and deliberate. Gentlemen, we have to agree on a plan of action now. Councilor Greenbean Well I think it's clear, we have to bulk up surface defenses on New Eden. Councilor Salik We also need to make sure every ship in the fleet is armed with lasers and the nebula gas spacial charges. Even Life Station. Councilor Omega We've already seen to that Salik. But the more important question remains, do we actually stay and fight? Councilor Wilker Well it's clear from the wreckage that the Cylons have advanced far beyond what we thought they may have. I'm not so sure we can stand and fight against them now. Councilor Greenbean I don't see that we have a choice, I refuse to believe that a flight into unknown space for a second time will solve our problems here. President Tigh But the question remains, can we fight against an enemy with unknown capabilities, unknown numbers, and with a well-known agenda. At this point I'm not prepared to say that we can. Councilor Salik I will not entertain thoughts of leaving our homes. Commander Apollo We are not home, Councilor. Our homes were destroyed by the Cylons 25 Yahrens ago. New Eden has merely been a way station on our way to Earth, where we will find allies. Councilor Greenbean As I have said before Commander, bring us proof of the where about of the subject of your Father's obsession and we will have something to talk about. Councilor Omega Have more Cylons been picked up yet? Commander Apollo Yes, the Galactica picked up the Cylons on Long Range scanners. They are coming, and in greater numbers. They will be here sooner than we had thought. Councilor Salik If the Galactica had been monitoring long-range scanners properly, we may have had a chance to fend them off. Councilor Greenbean Yes, who was monitoring the scanners on your ship commander, it was your son I believe? Commander Apollo Yes. Councilor Greenbean Well Commander, I trust that your son will receive an appropriate sentencing at his hearing. Commander Apollo He will receive no special treatment if that is what you are implying. Councilor Greenbean Take that as you will, Commander. President Tigh We're getting way off track here. Now we've heard all the arguments about whether to stay and fight or flee the Cylons. Anymore discussion will simply rehash issues we've already discussed. So I put the decision to a vote from the Council. How say you? Councilor Greenbean I vote to stay and defend New Eden. The council members each in turn vote to stay and fight, with the exceptions of Omega and one other Councilor. President Tigh Then it is decided. We stay and defend New Eden. I'm sorry, Apollo. Commander Apollo Then the fate of the Colonies is sealed. Commander Apollo walks out. INT. GROUND TRIBUNAL HEARING ROOM - NIGHT Commander Apollo sits behind a judge's bench. The tribunal and witness are viewing evidence on a view screen showing Seth leaving his post. Commander Apollo This tribunal is convened. The case against Lieutenant Seth of Blue Squadron will now commence. Opposer Solon. Opposer Solon For my first piece of documentation, I will show the esteemed members of the Tribunal, the scan footage of Lieutenant Seth leaving his post. A view screen lights up and shows Seth at his console. He has a conversation with Flight Officer Rigel. And then begins to push some buttons on the console. He then leaves his post. Opposer Solon Next I would like to call Flight Officer Rigel to the stand as a witness. Commander Apollo Proceed. Flight Officer Rigel walks up to the stand. Opposer Solon Tell the Tribunal Flight Officer Rigel, what was the nature of the discussion we saw in the footage that was just shown. Flight Officer Rigel I overheard the Lieutenant speaking to himself. Opposer Solon What did he say? Flight Officer Rigel He said that the long-range scan duty was a waste of time. Opposer Solon Would you say that he was content with his duty? Flight Officer Rigel It was evident to me that he didn't want to be there. Protector I protest. The opposer is asking the witness to guess what the defendant was thinking. Commander Apollo Agreed, you will stick to the facts, Opposer. Opposer Solon Very well. Officer, what was the Lieutenant punching into the console just before he left. Flight Officer Rigel He was programming to computer to respond to normal blips in the fleet. Giving it commands, to act as though someone were actively at the post. Opposer Solon Then why weren't the Cylon ships detected? Flight Officer Rigel The program he entered was clever; I've never seen anyone do anything like that before. But he didn't account for ships not belonging to the fleet. The program didn't know how to interpret the signatures, and assumed that they were part of the fleet. Opposer Solon Thank you, Flight Officer. That is all the questions I have for you. Commander Apollo The witness may be seated. Is that the only piece of evidence, Opposer? Opposer Solon No, I'd also like to enter into evidence scanner logs showing the departure of Lieutenant Seth's Alpha Viper and its course during the attack, which corresponds directly to the time period of his ordered long-range scanner duty. A view screen pops up showing the scanner data. Opposer Solon. You can see here Lieutenant Seth's Ultra-Viper dancing through the fleet like a drunken madman. Captain Stiletto is seen in the back of the room smirking and shaking her head. Opposer Solon. And here, are the two Cylon Raiders, streaking right past him. You can see by the time index, it took place during the time Lieutenant Seth was ordered to long-range scanner duty. In closing I'd like to stress to the Tribunal that the documentation I have shown here today, shows Lieutenant's flagrant lack of respect for authority, and the duties of a warrior. I ask the punishment be appropriate. If the Tribunal pleases, that concludes the opposition. Commander Apollo Does the Protector have anything further to say on these matters? The protector and Seth whisper to each other. Protector The defendant wishes to plead guilty Commander. Commander Apollo Does the defendant have anything to say on his behalf before the Tribunal reaches a sentence? Lieutenant Seth All I can say is that I am sorry. The members of the Tribunal whisper to each other in conference. Commander Apollo Very well. Commander Seth, please rise. Being sorry will not restore the lives that were lost due to your negligence of your duties. It is the decision of this Tribunal that you be sentenced to 10 Yahrens in the prison barge. Take him to the surface holding cells to await transport. May the Lords of Kobol protect you there. Sheba storms out of the Tribunal hearing in tears. Seth is hauled away by Council Security. We see Stiletto with a stunned look on her face. INT. SURFACE HOLDING CELL - DAY Seth has been brought to the surface Holding cell where Sheba and Orion stand outside of his cell to have some final words. Seth sits in the back of the cell with his back turned to the bars. Flight Instructor Sheba Seth, look at me. Lieutenant Seth Just go, Mother. Lieutenant Orion Show Mother some respect. Lieutenant Seth Go to Hades, Orion. Lieutenant Orion Let's go, Mother Commander Apollo arrives to meet the rest of his family. Commander Apollo Son, I want you to look at me. Seth slowly rises and turns to look at his Father with eyes of hatred. Lieutenant Seth Ten Yahrens, father. For a mistake. Commander Apollo It wasn't just a mistake, Seth. You cost the lives of good warriors, civilians, children. Lieutenant Seth It wasn't I who fired the shots, or dove the ships into dwellings. Lieutenant Orion You may as well have. Seth walks up to the bars. Flight Officer Sheba Can't we get Seth an appeal? Commander Apollo I'm afraid not, the transgression was too great, coupled with Seth's less than stellar military record. Lieutenant Orion He's gotten the punishment he deserves, Mother. Maybe when he is released he'll be a better man. Seth spits in Orion's face. Orion lunges and tries to grab Seth through the bars. Seth leaps back and laughs. Flight Officer Sheba Seth, don't do this. I love you. Lieutenant Seth You're the only one, Mother. Sheba walks away in tears. Lieutenant Orion You're getting what you deserve. Orion walks out after Sheba. Commander Apollo I love you too, son. But you have brought this on yourself. Lieutenant Seth Save it. Commander Apollo walks out to leave Seth alone in his cell. Seth sighs. Then Seth hears the slow footsteps of Colonial boots. Captain Stiletto emerges. Captain Stiletto Your Mother isn't the only one who's fond of you. Seth turns around. Lieutenant Seth Stiletto. Seth walks up to the bars to eagerly greet her. Captain Stiletto. Boy, you've really done it this time haven't you? Lieutenant Seth I guess. Captain Stiletto Here, I've brought you a game pad. That might occupy your time. There's also some books stored in it that you can read. See, there's a receiver where you can download the latest news and entertainments, and a small transmitter so if you feel the need we can talk to each other. I really shouldn't be giving you this. Stiletto hands Seth the electronic game pad. Seth takes it and smirks to himself. Lieutenant Seth How much of that display did you see? Captain Stiletto Enough. You should probably go easier on your parents Seth, they mean you no harm. Lieutenant Seth Yeah, my Father only sentenced me to 10 yahrens on the Prison Barge. Seth tosses the game pad on the bed in the cell. Captain Stiletto Look, my old man is hard on me too, but it's only because he wants me to be a better warrior. Lieutenant Seth This is hardly the same thing. Captain Stiletto I suppose it isn't. But you have to admit that was a pretty frack'n stupid thing you did. A lot of people lost their lives. Lieutenant Seth Hey, look on the bright side, at least now your free and clear to be with my brother. I guess I've made that decision for you. Captain Stiletto Well, that doesn't really make me all that happy. Lieutenant Seth (smirks) No, I suppose it wouldn't. Captain Stiletto (smiles) Arrogant right up until the end. Unbelievable. Lieutenant Seth Hey, can you blame me? Seth reaches through the bars and gently grabs the back of Stiletto's head and pulls her in for a kiss. She eagerly kisses him. FADE OUT FADE IN INT. SURFACE HOLDING CELL - NIGHT Seth is on his bed. We see he has the game pad that Stiletto gave him torn apart and is using a small pin as a tool. He finishes what he is doing and puts the pad back together. He walks up to his cell door and places the pad against the wall. He presses a few keys. Scowls. Presses a few more keys, scowls again. He takes it down and cracks it open. With the pin he makes a few more small adjustments, puts it back together and places it against the wall again. He presses a few keys and whollah. The door opens. Seth smiles and stealthily exits his cell. EXT. SURFACE HOLDING CELLS - NIGHT Two Council Security officers smoke some femerellos and lean up against their Ultra-Vipers. They turn their head as they hear laser fire from inside the cell block. They stand to attention and throw their femerellos down. They slowly walk towards the door to the Holding cell door, pistols drawn. Seth walks out from the darkness and fires his laser at them killing them both. Seth hotwires one of the Ultra-Vipers and flies off into the sky, leaving the two dead bodies of the Council Security Officers behind. INT. APOLLO'S QUARTERS ABOARD THE GALACTICA - NIGHT Apollo sits behind his desk and pours over some old manuscripts. A door chime is heard. Commander Apollo Come in. Colonel Bojay walks in. Colonel Bojay Sorry to disturb you, Commander. But your son, Seth, has escaped. Commander Apollo When did this happen? Colonel Bojay About twenty sectons ago. He stole a Council Security Ultra Viper. We're tracking it now. Commander Apollo Where is it going? Colonel Bojay Scanners show he's heading in the direction of Baltar's cave. Commander Apollo As if I needed to ask. Colonel Bojay There's one more thing, Apollo. Commander Apollo What is it? Colonel Bojay Three Council Security Officers were found dead, shot by a laser pistol. We believe... Commander Apollo I know what you believe. Colonel, order all Security Officers to drop the chase. I will bring him in myself. I'm going to go to that cave and see exactly what kind of fascination my son has for Baltar. Colonel Bojay What about your son? Commander Apollo Have the Security Officers ready to take him into custody when I return with him. Colonel Bojay This is not the way I wanted to see things turn out, Apollo. (sigh) I'll tell them not to rough him up. Commander Apollo No need Colonel, my son is a murderer. Apollo gets up and leaves his quarters. Bojay sits down and sighs in deep sorrowful thought. INT. BALTAR'S CAVE - NIGHT Seth walks into Baltar's Cave. Lieutenant Seth Baltar? Baltar Right here my boy. Did you bring me the communications device? Lieutenant Seth I have it right here. Seth hands him the game pad that Stiletto had given him. Baltar Excellent. Lieutenant Seth Baltar, I've been having reservations about the Cylons. Baltar Why the sudden change of heart my boy? Lieutenant Seth Two Cylon ships entered the system, fired on the fleet and crashed into New Eden, killing many people. Baltar Well, it could be that the Cylons thought they were being fired upon. There are two Battlestars in the sky now, they can appear to be very aggressive. Still, if you have a change of your mind, perhaps you should return to the settlement and consider things for a while... Lieutenant Seth I can't. Baltar And why is that? Lieutenant Seth Because it was my duty to monitor long-range scanners. I abandoned my post. I was put on trial and sentenced to 10 Yahrens on the Prison Barge. Baltar (laughs) Do you know how many sentences I have received? With good behavior I'm sure you get an early release. Surely your father will be easy on you should you return on your own. Lieutenant Seth I killed three men to escape. Baltar I see. And did anyone follow you here? Commander Apollo walks in and hides behind some stalagmites to listen to the conversation. Lieutenant Seth I don't think so. But I'm sure they tracked the Ultra Viper, they'll be coming soon enough. Baltar Then we have no time to lose. We must contact the Cylons soon. But first I have something I must show you, something we must bring to give to the Cylons as a gift. Baltar retrieves the medallion of the Lords of Kobol. Apollo drops his jaw in disbelief. Commander Apollo (whispers to himself) A thief too, where did I go wrong? Baltar leads Seth deeper into the cavern. Apollo follows behind them, being careful to stay hidden. INT. LIFE STATION - NIGHT Cassiopeia is giving orders to nurses and doctors who tend the wounded from the recent Cylon attack. Commander Starbuck walks in and Cassie rushes to greet him before a huge picture window looking out at the stars and a few fleet ships. Commander Starbuck Cassie, I wanted to see you before they get here. Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia You mean... Commander Starbuck Yes. Long-range scanners picked up several dozen Cylon squadrons heading right for New Eden. They'll be here in a few sectons. Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia Then you need to be aboard the Pegasus. Commander Starbuck I know, I just wanted to see how my boys are doing. Any chance of getting these men in a Viper soon? Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia Some of them maybe, but most are badly wounded. Commander Starbuck We're going to be short on pilots then. Frack!!! Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia Starbuck, are you sure we're doing the right thing? Maybe we should leave New Eden. Commander Starbuck Cassie, realistically, we just can't be sure Earth is real. Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia If not for Earth, then for somewhere else. Anywhere else that we can find the same kind of peace we've had here? Commander Starbuck I'm not ready to give up with out a fight just yet. We have too much invested in New Eden to just leave it behind for what could be pipe dreams. Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia I know, I just hate to see this. (Cassie motions to the wounded.) Commander Starbuck No one likes to see that, Cassie. But sometimes action is necessary to keep what you hold dear. Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia Well, whatever action you may take, I want to know I support you, and pray that the Lords of Kobol will watch over you and the Pegasus. Commander Starbuck Cassie, I want to tell you that I uh, you see I'm really uh, you know I... Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia I know. Cassiopeia kisses Starbuck as laser fire shoots through space outside the picture window and rattles Life Station. Starbuck grabs his communicator. Commander Starbuck REPORT! Colonel Boomer (over intercom) Commander, they're here. Commander Starbuck I thought the report said they wouldn't be here for several sectons! Colonel Boomer The Cylons are using something that gives off a shadow to the scanners from where they really are. We miscalculated. Commander Starbuck Well that's just great. Everyone looks out the window at the updated Cylon Raiders flying and firing on the fleet. And the fleet firing back. Starbuck turns to Cassie Commander Starbuck Cassie... Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia Go. Starbuck nods and runs out of Life Station. INT. PEGASUS BRIDGE - NIGHT Colonel Boomer Launch Purple and Orange Squadrons. Flight Corporal Luna Launch Bay Alpha, stand by to launch. Launch when ready. Cut to the launch tubes. Stiletto, Isis, Marduk and Horus launch. INT. GALACTICA BRIDGE - NIGHT Colonel Bojay Launch Red and Blue Squadrons. Flight Corporal Terra Launch Bay Alpha, stand by to launch. Launch when ready Cut to Galactica Launch tubes. We see Thor, Orion, Innana, and Boots launch. Next we see a glorious space battle with Updated Vipers and Updated Cylon Raiders. All the new young pilots are involved and we get some witty pilot banter going. Starbuck flies in a shuttle and leaves the Life Station to hurry back to the Pegasus. The shuttle flies through flak and dog fighting fighters. INT. SHUTTLE - STARBUCK Commander Starbuck Boomer, tell me what's going on! Colonel Boomer We've got a single squadron of Cylon Raiders here to deal with. But scanners show many more are on their way and will be here in a few centons. Commander Starbuck I'm on my way back to the Pegasus now. What's the word from the Galactica? Colonel Boomer Bojay is in command right now. Commander Starbuck Patch me through to him Colonel Boomer Bojay's face appears on the view screen. Colonel Bojay Starbuck, we're on our way to your side of New Eden to assist. All squadrons have been launched. Commander Starbuck Good, where's Apollo? Colonel Bojay He had to leave the Galactica Commander, his son has escaped. Commander Starbuck (sarcastic) Great. I'll be in contact with you once I reach the bridge of the Pegasus to coordinate our line of defense. Colonel Bojay I'll be awaiting your communication. The view screen goes blank. Commander Starbuck Frack that kid! We see the shuttle careening through a space battle heading towards the Pegasus. INT. BALATAR'S CAVE - NIGHT Apollo follows Baltar and Seth to the cavern with the Egyptian Pyramid and stays hidden to watch what they do. As Baltar and Seth reach the door of the pyramid, Apollo watches them as Baltar pulls out the Medallion of the Lords of Kobol. The door opens and Seth and Baltar go inside. Apollo cautiously follows. INT. PEGASUS BRIDGE - NIGHT Starbuck hurries into the red-lit bridge and meets Boomer. Commander Starbuck Report Colonel Boomer We've launched Purple and Orange squadrons. We're tracking several more squadrons of Cylon Raiders about to engage the fleet in a few centons. Commander Starbuck Launch Bronze Spar Squadron and the experimental Vipers. Colonel Boomer Sir, they've never been tested. Commander Starbuck Too late to worry about that felgercarb now. Patch me through to the Galactica. Colonel Bojay pops up on a view screen. Commander Bojay Bojay, I want you to launch Silver Spar Squadron and any experimental Vipers you have on board. Colonel Bojay I don't know if the boys are ready to fly those things yet but we'll give it a go. Commander, the Galactica is picking up four transports moving towards the surface of New Eden. Colonel Boomer Starbuck if those transports contain troops... Commander Starbuck I know. Bojay, we've got to stop those transports at all costs. Colonel Bojay Will do. INT. GALACTICA BRIDGE - NIGHT Colonel Bojay Blue Squadron, Purple Squadron, your orders are to stop those transports from reaching the surface at all costs! EXT. FLEET IN ORBIT AROUND NEW EDEN - NIGHT The space battle continues as colonial ships move to intercept the Cylon Transports. We see the pilots talking from their cockpits. Captain Stiletto Aye Aye, Colonel. Thor, we'll chase the two on the left, your squadron get the two on the right. Captain Thor Well this is what we've been waiting for! Yeehaa! The Vipers manage to destroy two Transports Lieutenant Orion More Raiders coming in fast! Captain Stiletto Drop the transports and engage the raiders! Flight Sgt. Inanna There's too many, I can't get a fix! Flight Sgt. Inanna Blows up. Lieutenant Isis My God, Inanna's Gone. Lieutenant Marduk I hope those surface defenses are ready. Captain Thor We can't leave the fleet. They'll have to be! INT. BALTAR'S CAVE - NIGHT Apollo followed Seth and Baltar into the pyramid. Inside are rows and rows of giant tablets, with graven hieroglyphs on them. The walls are painted with hieroglyphs. Apollo hides behind one of the tablets. In the center of the room is a pedestal with a red granite tetrahedron on it, about the size of a basketball. Lieutenant Seth What is this place? Baltar It is a Library. This is what we shall bring to the Cylons as a token of our good will. These tablets, chronicle the history of the Cylons, their origins, their power. It also speaks of an unknown power the humans have yet to develop. They will not want the humans to have this information. Lieutenant Seth (pointing at the tetrahedron) What about this? Baltar That my boy, is a star map. The glyphs on the sides are a map to your father's precious Earth. That too will also make a great prize for the Cylons. Lieutenant Seth Who built this place? Baltar The ancestors of the Thirteenth Tribe. They built it deep underground, a time capsule to chronicle their journey to Earth. They left it behind that others might find them. Lieutenant Seth How did you find it? Baltar When you father first banished me from the settlement I had to remain in the cave to avoid any hostilities. To forage for food, slimy creatures and fungus, I delved deeper until I stumbled across it. It was our good fortune that I did my boy. Apollo steps out with pistol in hand. Commander Apollo Good fortune, but not for you Baltar. Seth whips around and draws his laser and fires on his father. Apollo ducks behind a tablet, Seth does the same. Baltar slithers on the ground trying to find a place to hide. INT. PEGASUS BRIDGE - NIGHT Flight Officer Troy Ground troops reporting in sir... two of the transports are landing. Commander Starbuck May the Lords of Kobol protect them. Colonel Boomer Commander, I think it's time we pull out the big guns. Commander Starbuck It doesn't look like we have a choice. Put me on Unicom. - This is Commander Starbuck, I am authorizing use of the Nebula Gas special charges. Cut to Stiletto's Viper. Captain Stiletto It's about time! Captain Thor Let em' have it boys! Lieutenant Marduk This one's for Inanna! Ships begin to drop spatial charges that use the nebula gas. Raiders fly into them and the gas explodes in blue green causing anything technological to loose complete control. EXT. EDGE OF NEW EDEN SETTLEMENT - NIGHT A storm is brewing overhead. Through the clouds and lightening flashes, two Cylon Transports emerge and begin their descent. Colonial heavy artillery fires with little effect. The transports land. Doors begin to slowly open. Cut to trenches dug in by the colonials. A ground general paces the trench and watches the Cylon transports. From the doors we see many red roving eyes in the darkness of the transports. When they emerge, the look like robotic jackals with red roving eyes. They take off towards the colonials. GROUND GENERAL GILES By Kobol. Well we've got daggits too. Release the daggits! Troy's war daggits are released and meet the Cylon Jackals head on. A fight ensues. Some of the Jackals get through and into the trenches killing soldiers. The fight goes on for a while in this fashion until all the jackals are destroyed. Ground General Giles Call back the daggits! The war daggits that were not destroyed return to the trenches. Next we see four robotic steeds with the red roving eyes, and updated Gold Cylon Centurions mounted atop them stride out of the transport and take position. A half dozen or so Cylon Hover tanks come out of the transports and take position. Three Cylon Hovering Chariots rise into the sky and take position above the battle field. The Chariots are triangular and have guns mounted on each side. Three Cylons to each chariot, each one manning a gun. In the middle of the Center Chariot is a Cylon IL series. The Cylon IL series now no longer has legs but an anti grav capability and rises from the chariot further into the air. Ground General Giles What the frack are you waiting for? Fire! Fire begins across the battlefield from both sides. Then the updated silver Cylon infantry spill out of the transports. Hundreds of them. Massive ground battle ensues as the rain begins to pour and lighting strikes. The Colonials send out Landrams and use heavy lasers mounted on tripods. The Cylon transports then let out thousands of mechanical rats, each with red roving eyes. They crawl on the ground towards the colonials. They use flamethrowers and nebula gas throwers to fight them. INT. BALTAR'S CAVE - NIGHT Baltar is hiding. Seth and Apollo weave through the tablets hunting each other down. And fire at each other sporadically. Baltar Apollo, your son was holding me prisoner, a hostage! Commander Apollo Shut up! Lieutenant Seth (his laughter echoes on the walls) So it has come to this Father. Commander Apollo Seth put down your gun and come with me. Lieutenant Seth To where, the Prison Barge? Commander Apollo You can still have a future! Lieutenant Seth Yes, in front of the firing squad. Don't you know father, I murdered three men. Commander Apollo I know. What did I do to make you this way? Lieutenant Seth Ha! It's what you didn't do. INT. GALACTICA BRIDGE - NIGHT Commander Bojay Report! Flight Officer Rigel The fleet has sustained massive damage. It looks like the Nebula Gas weapons are working. There's a few Raiders that the squadrons are rounding up. But it appears the battle in orbit has been won. Bojay reviews the damage reports. Commander Bojay A victory yes, but at one Hades of a cost. How are the ground troops doing? Flight Officer Rigel They're losing ground. Colonel Bojay Order all available squadrons to enter New Eden's atmosphere and begin a strafing run with the Nebula Gas Spatial Charges. Flight Officer Rigel Aye sir. EXT. EDGE OF NEW EDEN SETTLEMENT - NIGHT The ground battle rages on. Ground General Giles Activate the Nebula Gas mines! A young corporal hits a switch on a control box, and small blue green explosions light up all across the battle field hitting about half of the Cylon Machinery, and some of the Colonial machinery as well. Cut to updated IL Series Cylon, Diablo, floating in the sky. DIABLO Oh my, Imperious Leader will be displeased with this. Just then a stray laser hits Diablo in the head sending him flying off into the sky. A new Cylon Juggernaught, an impossibly huge piece of Cylon machinery with countless guns emerges from the transports and starts firing everywhere. Some Cylon Raiders start to fall from the sky and hit the ground with gigantic crashes. Just then several Vipers emerge from the clouds above and drop Nebula Gas Charges on the Battlefield, taking care of all but a few Cylon infantry and some Cylon Jackals. The Colonial Troops cheer. EXT. BALTAR'S CAVE - NIGHT A Cylon Raider that was hit falls out of the sky and crashes near the cave entrance. INT. BALTAR'S CAVE - NIGHT The Pyramid begins to crumble inside. Pieces of stone fall and hit Seth in the head, knocking him out. Apollo rushes to his son's side. He weeps and kisses his boy's bloody head. Baltar walks up; Apollo draws his gun on him. Baltar Apollo, these tablets contain a wealth of information that only I can read. You would not kill your only chance of deciphering them would you? Commander Apollo (through Tears) I have been studying Baltar, I now know how to read the writing of the Ancients. I'm taking my boy, and the map to Earth. Baltar But this was my discovery, it belongs to me! Commander Apollo Which you gained with my stolen medallion. Apollo stands and yanks the medallion from Baltar's cloak. Baltar Well, it was a gift from your boy. Commander Apollo If you ever go near my son again, I swear by the Lords of Kobol, I will kill you. Commander Apollo lifts Seth over his shoulders and pulls out a levitron from his belt. He aims a beam from it at the tetrahedron and it levitates out with him. EXT. EDGE OF NEW EDEN SETTLEMENT - NIGHT It drizzles on a broken battlefield strewn with wounded and dead colonial warriors, and Cylon and Colonial machinery. Apollo's shuttle touches down in the scene. The settlement has been hit by fire and there are smoking ruins here and there. Orion, Stiletto, Thor, and Marduk wander through the battlefield looking at the wounded, Stiletto helps DOCTOR HOTEP. Doctor Hotep We can't survive another onslaught like this. Captain Stiletto But we won. Ground General Giles Yes, but barely. And the only reason was that the Nebula Gas mines and the rain gave us a distinct advantage. But now we're dearly short on mines, and we can't count on the rain alone to aid us. Apollo walks out of his shuttle with a limping and cuffed Seth. Orion sees them. Commander Apollo Then we don't stay and fight them. Not yet. Captain Orion You! Orion leaps at Seth. Commander Apollo holds back Seth and the Ground General holds back Orion. Ground General Giles Easy there, Captain. Lieutenant Orion You killed three good Council Security officers. And half this carnage is your damned fault. Captain Stiletto He's right Seth, if you had been following orders, we may have not been in as bad a position as we are now. Captain Seth Isn't this heart warming, my brother the saint and his solcialator lecturing me. Orion leaps at Seth again Apollo and the Ground General hold the two away from each other. Commander Apollo Stop this! Seth will be put before a Tribunal again for his deeds. That will be justice. Captain Orion He deserves the laser squad. Commander Apollo That may very well be the case. But for now, General, take Seth to the Surface holding Cells and this time place more guards just outside his cell. Ground General Yes, Commander. Apollo returns to his shuttle. Orion and Stiletto continue to help with the wounded. INT. SHUTTLE APOLLO - NIGHT Opening a channel to Unicom. Commander Apollo Settlement of New Eden. Ships of the Fleet, this is Commander Apollo. I am requesting that all personnel that can be spared and all civilians who can make it, come to the park to hear me speak. I have something of great importance to tell the people. Commander Apollo looks on the seat beside him and takes a long hard look at the red granite tetrahedron. EXT. PARK - NIGHT A crowd of people stand before Apollo. Apollo stands on a raised dais before them. Starbuck, Boomer, Bojay, Sheba flank him. Stiletto, Marduk, Orion, and Thor are on the ground below in the front of the crowd who waits to see what Apollo has to say. Apollo holds up his hand to hush the crowd. He then uses his levitron to levitate the red granite tetrahedron into the air above the crowd. Commander Apollo This stone was found in a cave very near to here. The ancients had left it behind on their way to Earth, to provide record of their travels. The inscriptions read, "The Exodus from Kobol of the first twelve tribes colonized the 12 planets of Man. In the final days of Kobol, the Thirteenth tribe left Kobol far away from the colonies, and into the heavens." Commander Starbuck Well, that should change their minds. Colonel Boomer Oh yeah, I'm sure it will. Commander Apollo Here then is the proof you seek, in the form of this stone marker. Someone from the crowd steps up. Colonial Civilian #1 It's just some old dusty stone. Colonial Civilian #2 If it's thousands of Yahrens old, who says the information is still true. Colonial Civilian #3 The people of Earth could have been long destroyed since that was carved out. Captain Orion People please, my father has physical proof. Why now is it not good enough? Counselor Greenbean Because Captain, you father is using the same old tactics. Apollo, there is not much different from his stone you say to have discovered, and the old dusty tomes in your library aboard the Galactica. We have won this battle. It's time for us to fight back, we can win again! The crowd cheers. Commander Starbuck Now just a centon, Counselor, I was in command of the Pegasus during this victory as you call it, and we nearly lost. Now our reserves of the nebula gas are depleted which in my opinion are the only thing that saved us. I would not want to go head to head with the Cylons again. We haven't even seen one of their Basestars yet, can you imagine what will happen when we do? Counselor Greenbean We will fight commander and we will win. Just as we have done today. What say the people! The crowd cheers Captain Apollo Then it appears to me that the people will never listened to reason. Fight the Cylons then. And stay for your doom! Apollo uses the Levitron out of frustration to whip the tetrahedron into the air. He pulls out a pistol and fires at it in mid air sending red granite pieces flying. From the center of the tetrahedron emerges a small black tetrahedron looking somewhat akin to carbon fiber. It has buttons and lights on it. It falls to the ground where people get out of the way. When it hits the ground, a switch is hit, and a hologram is projected into the sky. It is a map to Earth. A voice is heard in everyone's head that is projected form the tetrahedron. The voice speaks: Tetrahedron Voice 'Earth quadrant Alpha, 19 million sectars by Epsilon Vector 22 on a circular reckoning course of zero zero zero point nine, in a star system with nine planets and one Sun.' Counselor Greenbean (Looks up at the hologram) Perhaps I was wrong. FADE OUT FADE IN EXT. NEW EDEN SETTLEMENT - NIGHT The packing of New Eden begins as the people now agree that leaving New Eden and fleeing the Cylons is the best option. Thor and Boomer are on the surface helping people with their things, and guiding them to the right shuttles. Colonel Boomer Son, I was real proud of you up there. You've made a fine warrior. Captain Thor Thanks Father, but I was only doing my job. Colonel Boomer Ha, your just like your mother, way too humble. Captain Thor (smirk) Well I know I don't get it from you. Colonel Boomer No you don't. But she'd be real proud of you too. Boomer and Thor embrace. Cut to Cassiopeia and Stiletto taking care of wounded and transporting them to shuttles. Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia Give him 500 milicentons of liquids. Captain Stiletto Yes, mother. Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia Stiletto, I know you don't like me prying into your private life. But are you o.k.? About Seth? Captain Stiletto Mother I don't want to talk about it. Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia I think you should. Captain Stiletto I'm going to miss him Mother, but he's gone too far this time. He's made his own path in life and has to follow it. Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia Well, you still have Orion. Captain Stiletto Yeah, I do. He's a good man. Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia I think I have everything handled here, why don't you go to him? Captain Stiletto Thanks Mother. Stiletto looks around a bit to make sure no one is watching, then gives her mother a peck on the cheek. She leaves to help Orion out with loading munitions on Colonial Transports. Cut to scene of Sheba helping people pack their things and get onto the right shuttles. Bojay walks up to her. Colonel Bojay How are you? Flight Instructor Sheba I'm well, as well as I can be I suppose. Colonel Bojay Sheba, I am truly sorry about Seth. Flight Instructor Sheba Well, I suppose he just didn't have the attention he needed. Colonel Bojay I wish I could have been the one to give it to him. Bojay and Sheba stare into each other's eyes. The are interrupted by Apollo. Commander Apollo Colonel, we're about to have War Council. Your presence is ordered at the Departure Tent. Colonel Bojay Aye Aye Commander. Bojay leaves go to the tent, leaving Apollo and Sheba alone. Commander Apollo Sheba, I don't know what to say. Flight Instructor Sheba What is there to say? Our son is likely to be put in front of a laser squad. Commander Apollo I'm sorry. Flight Instructor Sheba Sorry? If you had just been there for him, none of this might have happened! Commander Apollo I have duties not just to my family but also to the whole of mankind! Flight Instructor Sheba Well, it seems the whole of mankind took the forefront. When you courted me 25 yahrens ago, Bojay courted me as well, I wonder what could have been. Commander Apollo Bojay is a fine warrior. Apollo walks away to go to the Departure Tent. INT. DEPARTURE TENT - NIGHT Apollo walks in and Boomer follows shortly behind him. Starbuck, Bojay, and Ground General Giles and President Tigh are already around a table with an LCD Star Map on it. Commander Starbuck How's the packing coming, are we going to be ready to take flight in a few centors? Colonel Boomer It's coming along fine, but we'll probably be shaving it a bit close. Commander Starbuck Wouldn't have it any other way. These are the two Base Stars that short range scanners picked up which will be here in a few centors. Also, over here is a third Basestar coming in behind these two, I'd give it an extra centor or two before it arrives. President Tigh (points) What's that over there? Colonel Bojay We don't know. President Tigh You don't know? Commander Starbuck Well, uh, we've never seen anything like it before. It's huge, maybe three times the size of a Basestar. But it's probably a full 7 centors away from here. We should be able to get away before it arrives. Ground General Giles If we survive the fight. Commander Starbuck Uh, exactly. Commander Apollo O.K. We should transfer all reserves of the gas charges to one-fourth the fleet, primarily military ships. Those will stay here to deflect the escape of the remaining three fourths of the fleet, which will head off into space at these coordinates. Commander Starbuck I'd also recommend transferring all ground forces and vehicles to the third of the fleet that will be taking flight. If we fail, no sense in the ground forces being destroyed. Ground General Giles I like the sound of that. Commander Starbuck I thought you might. President Tigh What about protecting the third of the fleet that is fleeing? Commander Apollo We can't afford to spare a single viper. If we fail blocking the Cylons from pursuit, the rest of them will be doomed. Commander Starbuck Well if that's all, I have a Battlestar to get to. The men leave the tent. INT. SURFACE HOLDING CELLS - NIGHT Seth lies on his bed in his cell and tosses his shoe up into the air, and catches it repeatedly. Suddenly, the sound of two laser blasts gets him up. He places his shoe back on. Baltar in a hooded robe walks up to Seth's cell door, he begins unlocking the door with a guard's key. Lieutenant Seth Baltar? Baltar Hurry, we must get out of here. The colonials are packing, preparing to leave New Eden. If we do not make contact with our Cylon friends soon, we will be destroyed with the rest of this scrambling mess. Baltar and Seth leave the cells. Cut to outside of the cellblock, Baltar and Seth make their way quietly towards a shuttle. Orion, carrying a box, sees the two scurrying to the shuttle. Orion drops the boxes and pulls out a laser. Lieutenant Orion Stiletto! Captain Stiletto What's going on? Lieutenant Orion Freeze Seth! Seth stops dead in his tracks as Baltar ignores the warning and flees to the inside of a nearby shuttle. He goes to the controls and begins to prepare the engines. Stiletto walks between Seth and Orion. Lieutenant Orion You're not going anyway. Get back to your cell now. Lieutenant Seth The only place I'm going is away from the Colonials. Captain Stiletto This is stupid Seth where will you go? Lieutenant Seth I'll go to the Cylons. Come with me, Stiletto. Captain Stiletto What? Lieutenant Stiletto Come with me. Stiletto stares at him in stunned Silence. Lieutenant Seth Then stay. Lieutenant Orion Don't test me, Seth. Lieutenant Seth I think I will test you. I don't think you have the courage to fire. Seth slowly turns around. Lieutenant Seth You will have to shoot me brother. Seth slowly walks into the shuttle. Orion drops his laser. Lieutenant Orion I couldn't shoot him. Captain Stiletto I know. INT. SHUTTLE - NIGHT Baltar and Seth sit at the controls. Lieutenant Seth Where are we going? I thought we were leaving this rock. Baltar MMMMM. We will, soon enough. But first we must go back to my cave and retrieve the tablets. Do you have a levitron? Lieutenant Seth Every shuttle carries them, but why do you need the tablets? Baltar My boy, we can't simply go to the Cylons empty handed. We must bring them a gift, to show our worthiness. Lieutenant Seth When my brother drew his weapon on me, you didn't exactly stick around to help me out. Baltar Well, I had to make certain the engines were started. Don't worry my boy, I wouldn't leave you behind, I need your young reflexes to fly through the oncoming attack on the fleet. Lieutenant Seth And how exactly won't we be blasted into the sky by the Cylons? Baltar This communicator you provided me, I've programmed it to emit my personal beacon to the Cylons. They will know not to fire on me. EXT. DEPARTURE TENT - NIGHT Council Security rushes up to Commander Apollo. Security Officer 1 Commander! Your son! Baltar broke him out of his cell. Scanner's show they're heading back to Baltar's cave. Commander Starbuck Can't you security eople hold anyone? Security Officer 2 We haven't really had much in the way of training over the past yahrens. Commander Apollo No, I suppose not. Starbuck, once again I am going after my son. Make sure the warriors follow through with their orders. Commander Starbuck Now, uh, not so fast here Apollo. That son of yours and Baltar have been a little nutty lately. I'm not going to leave you here to fight your way back to us all alone. Commander Apollo Starbuck, the fleet needs you in command. Commander Starbuck Of course they do, but uh, Hey Boomer! Boomer comes over to meet the two. Commander Starbuck Boomer do you think you can handle command for a few sectons before I get there. Colonel Boomer I suppose I could, but don't be too long. Commander Starbuck We never are. Don't worry, we'll take two Vipers. Commander Apollo Starbuck, we haven't flown one of those in yahrens! Commander Starbuck Well, that just means we need to brush up on it. Apollo smiles and shakes his head as Starbuck leads Apollo to the Vipers. Colonel Boomer How those two haven't gotten us all killed is beyond me. Starbuck and Apollo climb into their Vipers and take off. EXT. BALTAR'S CAVE - NIGHT Apollo and Starbuck land their Vipers just outside of Baltar's cave. There is a shuttle already landed there. Starbuck and Apollo get out of their Vipers. Commander Starbuck Baltar's been living here all this time? Commander Apollo Yes. Commander Starbuck All right, well let's get this over with. I'll go in ahead. Apollo and Starbuck enter the cave. INT. BALTAR'S CAVE Baltar and Seth are working on freeing the foundation of one of the tablets in order to have it moved. They are chipping away at it. Baltar Be Careful not to chip the glyphs away. Lieutenant Seth We've already got two tablets in the shuttle; do we need to take the rest? Baltar For it to be a stellar gift, we need all of them my boy. Apollo and Starbuck enter. Commander Apollo Both of you freeze! Seth looks up and sees both Apollo and Starbuck holding lasers. Seth doesn't miss a beat and draws his stolen laser, as does Baltar. A firefight erupts. During the firefight, Seth is able to run out of the cave. Baltar his hit in his leg. Baltar Ah! I'm wounded, help me! Commander Starbuck Oh don't worry, we'll be sure to come back for you. Starbuck and Apollo run out of the cave after Seth. Outside the cave, Apollo and Starbuck watch as Seth leaves the planet's surface in the shuttle. Commander Starbuck Come on, buddy, we can catch him! Commander Apollo (grabs Starbuck's arm) No, let him go. Stay here. Commander Starbuck Hey, if you're going back in to deal with Baltar, I'd like to- Commander Apollo That's an order! Commander Starbuck All right, all right. Apollo re-enters Baltar's cave. He slowly walks up to Baltar who leans against a tablet nursing his wounded leg. Baltar Apollo... Commander Apollo What were you doing here, Baltar? Baltar Well, we uh, we were loading these tablets onto the shuttle, to bring them back to the fleet. They contain much information, about the powers of mankind, and also, the history of much of the human race, listen to me Apollo, the history of the human race is not what you think. Cut to scene with Starbuck pacing and getting impatient and entering Baltar's cave. Cut back to Interior with Apollo and Baltar Commander Apollo I don't believe you, Baltar. That could never be the true history of the race of man. It goes against the words of the Lords of Kobol! It is heresy! Baltar Believe what you will, it is what the tablets say. Commander Apollo Where is Seth going? Baltar (hesitates) He left, but he can't- Uh, I tried to stop him. He wanted to go to the Cylons. I tried to warn him. Apollo leaps at Baltar and strangles him to death. We see the silhouettes of both of their bodies as Baltar slumps lifelessly to the ground. Apollo leaves the Pyramid. Once outside he uses his medallion to close the door. Starbuck meets up with him here. Commander Apollo I thought I told you to wait outside? Commander Starbuck I got a little worried. What about Baltar? Commander Apollo He's staying. Apollo walks out as Starbuck looks at him in curiosity. Cut to scene of Apollo and Starbuck flying their Vipers back to the Settlement. EXT. FLYING OVER NEW EDEN SETTLEMENT - NIGHT Apollo and Starbuck see the abandoned settlement. Everyone has left. Commander Starbuck Well, looks like everyone made it to their ships o.k. I don't see any life signs on my scanners. Commander Apollo Not everyone. Commander Starbuck Apollo, what happened in that cave? Commander Apollo Let's leave the atmosphere. My scanners show our Battlestars engaged in a fight with a squadron of Raiders, and a Basestar. Commander Starbuck Well, here we go again. The two Vipers rise into the clouds and out of New Eden's Atmosphere. EXT. IN ORBIT AROUND NEW EDEN - NIGHT An old 1978 Basestar and several of the old Raiders, mixed with some new ones fight the fourth of the fleet who has remained behind to fight. Starbuck and Apollo fly their Vipers through the fight and meet up with Thor, Stiletto, Marduk, and Orion in their Vipers. Commander You have got to be kidding me. They're still flying those old Basestars? Captain Thor She just came up on us sir. Those old Cylon ships are pretty easy to pick off, but the new ones, are a bit tricky. Commander Apollo All right, let's try to circumnavigate those fighters and head straight for that Basestar. Captain Stiletto You want a couple of squadrons to take on a Basestar? Commander Starbuck It's an old Basestar. And our fighters are pretty well advanced. And we've got a couple of Battlestars with us. I'm going to open a channel with the Battlestars. This is Commander Starbuck. INT. GALACTICA BRIDGE - NIGHT Colonel Bojay looks at the view screen with Starbuck's helmeted face on it. Commander Starbuck (over Unicom) Bojay, I want you to steer the Galactica in a vector pattern 180 Delta. Colonel Bojay Aye Aye. INT. PEGASUS - BRIDGE Colonel Boomer looks at the view screen with Starbuck's helmeted head. Commander Starbuck Boomer, take the Pegasus on a 360 Vector Alpha. I want the both of you two to unleash every laser cannon and missile you have. Colonel Boomer Well, you heard the man, let's get a move on! EXT. IN ORBIT AROUND NEW EDEN - NIGHT The Vipers fly through space firing on Raiders. Commander Starbuck And Gentlemen, save your nebula gas weapons. Do not deploy them unless I give the express order. Colonel Boomer You got it, Starbuck. Good luck to you. Commander Starbuck Good luck to us all. Lieutenant Orion It's good to see you in a viper again father. Commander Apollo Feels good to be in one again. Lieutenant Seth Did you retrieve Seth? Commander Starbuck Stick to the task at hand Lieutenant. The Vipers fly through a firefight with old and new Raiders. Lots of witty pilot banter between the old, and new pilots. Then, they come on the Basestar. Lieutenant Marduk Lords of Kobol, it's huge. Commander Apollo Stay focused, Lieutenant. Commander Starbuck Looks like the Battlestars are in position, now, all squadrons on a Vector 90 path Omega. The Battlestar Pegasus is above the Basestar pointed down directly at it's top. The Battlestar Galactica is underneath the Battlestar pointed up directly at its bottom. The Vipers swing in and attack the middle. After a long bout of firing, shields are breached and several critical places on the Basestar are hit, small explosions start. Commander Starbuck Everyone back off! It's going to blow! INT. BATTLESTAR GALACTICA BRIDGE - NIGHT Colonel Bojay Back us off, use sub light thrusters! INT. BATTLESTAR PEGASUS BRIDGE - NIGHT Colonel Boomer Get us the Hades out of here! Positive shields! The Battlestars back off as the Basestars explode. EXT. IN ORBIT AROUND NEW EDEN - NIGHT Commander Apollo Well that wasn't too hard now was it? Lieutenant Marduk That'll teach those golmonging Cylons! Commander Starbuck Well, they were never much of a challenge to begin with. Captain Stiletto That explains your legend as a great warrior. (laughs) Lieutenant Orion Don't sound the victory drums yet. We're getting a communication from the fleet. Flight Officer Troy comes onto the View screen. Flight Officer Troy All squadrons are ordered back to their respective Battlestars. Two more Basestars are within centars of the fleet. You are to report immediately to your Flight Instructors for a briefing. Lieutenant Thor So much for a victory cheer. Commander Apollo Okay warriors you heard the order. Back to your Battlestars. The Vipers fly back to their respective Battlestars. INT. GALACTICA FLIGHT BRIEFING ROOM - NIGHT Sheba points to a view screen in front of the seated Galactica pilots. Flight Instructor Sheba All right warriors, listen up! These are the two Basestars that will be here within a centar. The viewscreen shows an enlargement of one of the new Basestars. Flight Instructor Sheba As you can see, scanners show these new Basestars are about thirty percent larger than the ones we are familiar with. They have twice as many laser cannons and can hold a fourth more raiders. Lieutenant Orion Why can't we just leave now and rejoin the fleet? Flight Instructor Sheba Excellent question, Lieutenant. Scanners show engines capable of outrunning the Battlestars. INT. PEGASUS FLIGHT BRIEFING ROOM - NIGHT Jolly stands in front of his own pilots in front a similar viewscreen. Flight Instructor Jolly Your jobs will be to direct the Raiders away from the Basestars, allowing the Battlestars to slip in, to release our reserves of the gas charges, hopefully knocking out their capacity to pursue us. Once that is accomplished, we rejoin the fleet post haste. Captain Stiletto How do we know that they haven't found a way to withstand the gas? Flight Instructor Jolly Well if they had, they certainly would have gone through the nebula by now. And in any case, the gas we've learned to synthesize has a much higher energy field ratio than does the natural gas from the nebula. INT. GALACTICA FLIGHT BRIEFING ROOM - NIGHT Captain Thor And when the raiders pursue us back to the fleet? Flight Instructor Sheba We'll just have to pick them off one by one. You've all been trained very well, and although you may not have much in the way of combat experience, I have faith in each and every one of you. Boots Why can't we just go back through the nebula? Make them chase us for another 25 Yahrens? Flight Instructor Sheba You weren't there the first time we flew through it. I wouldn't want to try that again. Besides, Earth is in the opposite direction. Are there any more questions? There are no more questions. Flight Instructor Sheba All right. Good Luck. INT. GALACTICA BRIDGE - NIGHT Commander Apollo Patch me through to the Pegasus. Commander Starbuck shows up on the view screen. Commander Apollo Starbuck, is your Battlestar ready? Starbuck winces as he rubs his shoulder. Commander Starbuck As ready as we'll ever be. Commander Apollo What's wrong? Are you o.k.? Commander Starbuck I'm fine, I think those sharp maneuvers in that Viper did a number on by neck. Commander Apollo (smiles) Well, I think maybe it's best we leave the hotshot piloting to the youngsters from now on. Commander Starbuck You're probably right. We're moving into position. Commander Apollo Godspeed to us all. INT. PEGASUS BRIDGE - NIGHT Colonel Boomer A little sore old man? Starbuck raises and lights a femerello. Commander Starbuck I'll take on any young hot shot any day. Colonel Boomer Aren't you supposed to have quit those? Commander Starbuck Yeah, and if you, or anyone else on this bridge breath a word of it to Cassie, I'll have you all scrubbing the turbo flushers for a Yahren. Colonel Boomer (laughs) Just looking out for your health buddy. EXT. SPACE - NIGHT The two new Cylon Basestars close in on the Battlestars. INT. GALACTICA BRIDGE - NIGHT Colonel Bojay Launch all fighters. Flight Corporal Aquilla Vector Coordinates coded and transferred. Launch Bay Alpha and Beta- INT. PEGASUS BRIDGE - NIGHT Flight Corporal Shallon Standby to Launch. Launch when ready. Cut to launch tubes. All vipers launch. EXT. SPACE - NIGHT Vipers have launched and head towards the Basestars. All Pilots launch. They close in on the two new updated Cylon Basestars. Witty pilot chatter. Raiders spill out of the Basestars and dogfights ensue. The Vipers draw the raiders away from the Basestars allowing the Battlestars to close in. The Battlestars fire all laser cannons on the Basestars. As they pass by the Basestars, they release massive Nebula gas charges, which interfere with the Basestar's operations. The Battlestars flee to the area in which the dogfights are continuing. The Vipers release the last of their nebula gas charges and the Raiders are mostly hit. A few remain to be taken care of. The Vipers return to the Battlestars, and the Battlestars return to the fleet. The fleet flies into unknown space away from New Eden. Cut to a scene of Seth flying his shuttle towards an impossibly huge ship. A ship so huge that Cylon Basestars can dock in it. INT. PEGASUS FLIGHT DECK - NIGHT Thor, Marduk, Stiletto, and Orion spill out of their Vipers. Cheers from the pilots are heard. Lieutenant Marduk That was one Hades of a fight! Captain Stiletto Yeah we gave those Cylons a run for their cubits. Colonel Boomer walks in. Colonel Boomer Shouldn't you boys be reporting to the Galactica? Captain Thor Well I thought we could all get together for a victory drink. Colonel Boomer Well it's well deserved. I'll buy the first round. You did real good out there, son. I'm very proud of you. Boomer and Thor walk out of the flight deck in arms and lead the other pilots out. INT. HALLWAY OF GALACTICA - NIGHT Apollo meets Sheba in a hallway just outside of her quarters. Commander Apollo How are your quarters? Flight Instructor Sheba Well enough. My God, Apollo. We lost our son. Commander Apollo I fear he had been lost to us for some time now. Flight Instructor Sheba He didn't have to be. Commander Apollo Sheba I feel just as badly as you do about Seth but please let's not start this. Not now. Flight Instructor Sheba I hope you we will find Earth Apollo, but I hope we will find Seth more. I wish you felt the same. Because I can't be with you if you don't. Sheba enters her quarters and closes the door behind her. Apollo walks down the corridor. Bojay emerges from behind a door, having listened to the entire conversation. INT. STARBUCK'S QUARTERS ABOARD THE PEGASUS - NIGHT Starbuck and Cassie lay in bed with one another. Their bed is next to a large picture window overlooking the stars. The lights in the quarters are dimmed. They both look out at the stars. Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia Do you think they're really out there? The people of Earth? Commander Starbuck Earth? Well uh, that artifact was pretty convincing. I'd bet on these odds. Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia What happens if we find them? Commander Starbuck Well, hope they have the means to help us fight the Cylons. And that they're friendly. Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia Well, I have a good feeling about it. Commander Starbuck I do too. Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia So, now that we've been sealed, what do you say to having another little one? Starbucks eyes widen. Commander Starbuck That good feeling just went away. Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia Why? Commander Starbuck I think one daughter is about all I can handle right now. Cassiopeia smiles, then furrows her brows, leans in to Starbuck and takes a whiff. Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia Do I smell a femerello? Starbuck turns out the night light on the headboard. Commander Starbuck I have to get up early tomorrow for strategic, uh, meetings. Goodnight. Starbuck rolls over as Cassiopeia smirks Chief Medical Officer Cassiopeia Uh-huh. INT. GALACTICA OFFICER'S LOUNGE - NIGHT All of the young pilots are partying. Thor, Innana, Boots, Dauber, Aquila, Isis, Marduk, Horus, Ghost, Lanky, and others. Celebrating their victory with noisemakers etc. Except for Orion who stands at a large window looking out at the stars, by himself. Stiletto walks up to Orion. Captain Stiletto You look pretty somber. Lieutenant Orion Even though we've won, in a lot of ways, we've lost just as much. Captain Stiletto We've survived. Isn't that worth celebrating? Lieutenant Orion Of course it is. I just wish I could have stopped my brother. It's tearing my family apart. Captain Stiletto There was nothing you could do. Seth made his own decisions. Stiletto clasps Orion's hand and looks into his eyes. Captain Stiletto We all make our own decisions. Lieutenant Orion I wonder if he is still alive. Captain Stiletto He's pretty resourceful. If there was a way to survive, I'm sure he'd find it. Marduk and Isis break into their private conversation. They are visibly drunk. Lieutenant Marduk Just what in Hades are you two doing by yourselves? Here! Marduk forces flagons of Ambrosia into the hands of Orion and Stiletto. Lieutenant Marduk You need these. Lieutenant Isis They opened the oldest Ambrosia we have on board for this, so stop looking so frack'n glum and join the party before it's all gone! Captain Stiletto (smirk) They may have a point. Lieutenant Orion (smiles) Yeah, I suppose they do. They four rejoin the party. The camera goes to the window and out into space. INT. CYLON BASESTAR IMPERIOUS LEADER CHAMBERS- NIGHT Two updated Cylon Centurions drag Seth into the Imperious Leader's Chamber. The IL Series Cylon, Diablo, follows them. Seth is visibly beaten. Seth Please, you don't have to do this. I left the Colonials. I don't want to fight you, any of you! Imperious Leader Has he told all he knows of the humans' direction? Diablo He claims to have told us everything. Shall we execute him? Imperious Leader Hmmm. He may yet be of use to us. There may still be some information in that hairy head of his, which he refuses to share. I think we should extract it. Take him to the brain probe. Cylon By your command. Seth is dragged away as he spouts unintelligible protests with his swollen mouth. Cut to scene of Seth hooked up to brain probe. He screams. EXT. SPACE - NIGHT We see a shot of the two Battlestars, Galactica and Pegasus leading a fleet of many ships flying from right to left on the screen. Commander Apollo (V.O) Fleeing from Cylon tyranny, the last Battlestars, Galactica and Pegasus, lead a ragtag, fugitive fleet on a lonely quest - for a shining planet, known as Earth.
